Est release date 23/04/2010. Maybe a bit early?! Note, this is the NEW Super Street Fighter.

An expansion on the blockbuster fourth official iteration of the fighting game series, Super Street Fighter IV features the full roster of 25 characters from Street Fighter IV such as Ryu, Ken, Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus, while adding several characters new to the world of Street Fighter IV. Added to the roster are classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like T. Hawk as well as all-new characters such as the mysterious and deadly female fighter, Juri.

Super Street Fighter IV also adds new Ultra Combos and advancements to the online matchmaking and online gameplay services with numerous additional features. Once again, characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D, while the game is played in the classic Street Fighter 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes for that next-gen fighting experience. Super Street Fighter IV takes many of the groundbreaking features introduced in Street Fighter IV and refines everything to deliver the ultimate vision of Street Fighter to fans the world over.

They did announce it would be a budget release, so I presume r.r.p. will be £24.99/£19.99.
Anyway, we're not supposed to buy this as a protest for not making it DLC

I'd just wait for "Super-Duper Streetfighter 4" to come out the week after....
#3
I'd be annoyed if I had already bought sf4 since its only been out since march
#4

That's a year. Are you annoyed about Left 4 Dead 2?

I'm fuming... It's due to arrive this morning :whistling:

Less annoyed about the L4D fiasco as I bought a key for £10 in Feb, then paid £22.49 for the sequel. Despite a long summer hiatus it is still my most played title of the year at 62hrs so I feel i've had good value in comparison to SF4.

I'd much prefer this to DLC. I hate DLC.

I don't get this rerelease thing. Make a Street Fighter V instead.

people that complain about this don't really understand fighting games. ssf4 has enough alterations in the game to make it completly different at a competative level. just giving all the characters 2 ultras is going to change the game.

Back to the SF glory days - Street Fighter II, Super Turbo, Hyper Fighting, 3rd Strike................yada, yada, yada...............it's just a cash cow folks, always has been. Buy it, don't buy it, but don't act surprised.
#10
Well, we had a new Street Fighter 2 every 6 months back in the day, so im not complaining.

SF4 offered Capcom the perfect platform to show how a fighter could be revitalised, they were rewarded with excellent sales figures. Most reviews talked about the scope and possibilities for the game, new levels, new characters. How do Capcom reward us? They slip back into Snes era mentality and release a new standalone title instead. It annoys people and is not good for the franchise or genre.

It's all very good for a die hard fan that will lap everything up, but I embraced SF4 expecting a solidly supported title with longevity and optional DLC for those that care.

Back in the SNES days it was another £60 each time they popped a Turbo or Super on the title. End of the day people go out every year and buy a new FIFA, Tiger Woods, etc at £40 a time. This is similar to them, but released at half the price which sounds alright to me. That said I am probably not best to judge as I have at least 3 Street Fighter games per generation since the SNES and have just bought a collectors edition for PS3 when I have the normal edition for 360.

What I would really like them to make though is Marvel vs Capcom 3 using the SF4 art style and a better range of more balanced characters.
#13
Also, It has been said that there's an advantage to owning SFIV aswell as SSFIV...

Most likely the advantage is capcoms pockets getting more full. :p
#14
Probably will end up buying this, although will wait nearer to release for a better price. I got SF4 for ~£6 earlier this year

As for those saying it's 'just' an update, I guess none of you have played SF3 (all 3 of them). The progressive improvements on each iteration were so significant they made 3rd strike (probably) the most comprehensive 2D beat 'em up ever. Compare that to the same old rehashed football games we buy year in, year out, with updated squads........

Capcom have dollar signs in their eyes, unfortunately, always have and always will. Hence the endless remakes/rehashes of RE - stupid numbers of SF instalments - even looking back to Ghosts and Goblins, Super Ghosts and Goblins, Super Hyper Fighting Ghosts and Goblins deluxe.......

The fact that they could even think about charging to unlock the MP in RE5 was the biggest slap in the face to date I think.

It is a real shame that they are going back down this road with SFIV though - as you say, SFIV was a real achievement, when it could have just as easily bombed - people were writing off a 2D fighting game being successfull in this generation of consoles. Just be happy people bought your game Capcom, let alone spent a fortune on costume unlocks! SSFIV my ar$e! :p

i agree with you i would love to see a new marvel vs capcom 3 but would also like to see Capcom vs SNK 3 also i would love it if one of the new ultras are kens move from SNK.

i have most probably played sf4 more than any of my other games and i will def be buying this game. when i playing street fighter it reminds me of when i was a kid playing at my nanny's house and all the fighting games played with mates. still playing the same guy as i was back in day on snes lol. and i love it but he has got better over the years

I agree that someone who plays SFiv casually will feel hard done by.

Ask anybody that plays this game competitively and they will say that they cannot wait for this and that price is a deal!!

Don't believe me? Go Casino and ask the people there what they think.

The added dynamics, including new ultras, 2ultras, nerfing and tweaking of chars, adding of stages, modes and chars, makes this a totally new game but for people who play this game on a serious level. But then again I'm probably talking to my fellow SF IV people who had no problem paying over a £100 for the TE fightstick.

Trust me when I say people are counting down the days for this.

for me if the game is good, i don't mind paying the full price for it.

as a business capcom's team worked for a full year to delivery all these changes to the existing game, i don't expect they can make a living by just distributing their work as DLC for free! (I don't think anyone is willing to work for a year with zero salary!).
I can understand patches & fixes to a game should come for free, but if it's new added features/functions to a game then I am happy to pay for it if its good.

Everyone saying people are waiting for this, sure you're correct but I believe that to be a minority, people picked up SF4 to relive their childhood in the majority and where as they might buy a few more characters (in their opinon) downloading it to their existing game, if they see a repackaged version of the game they will more than likely shrug and say I've got it already.

Seems like a bad move by capcom in my opinion for not making this a £10 add on as well as this budget release, there's no reason they couldn't have had their cake and eaten it. :p

Super Ultra Combo Skating & Dancing on Ice Fighter 4 is out next wednesday so i'll just hang on
#21
At least it's not £59.99 for a slightly better game.
suspended#22
i can see this going cheaper, but not by much. Its meant to be a budget release after all, and ppl are still ****** about the new release not being a DLC.

Have to wait and see how the game plays and see whats new, essentially there are new characters, and hopefully a better balance of characters and the ultra moves. So i am not suprised there's a charge for it.

they should put Kairi in this game man >_< he would look so kool.
#23
To be fair:

1) This game is supposed to be £19.99 so I would assume its worth waiting.

2) Super Street Fighter II is a complete sequel to Street Figher II. Each have their own Turbo add-on, but there is more than enough difference to have justified it as a separate game in the past. So it should be the same with Street Fighter IV.

3) In this particular case, because the games are released so close to each other and Super Street Figher IV builds on the same code base of Street Fighter IV, then Capcom have rightly made this a budget game.

4) If this was DLC it would work out expensive given the cost of just an additional outfit!

I think that Capcom are doing it right this time!

Completely agree, my bf being one of these people and personally, im beginning to love playing this. His current street fighter is scratched from being played so often and as for the stick.... he traded in his rubbish games just to get his hands on it (and worth it for the better playing experience I think )
