I can't see one for £99 the cheapest is £175 so hardly comparable.
I stayed at Edinburgh Malmaison. Depends on which room is available

Yes, some other better deals out there. But depends on personal opinion. Superbreak do 9.09% Cashback. I got £26 back off a long weekend in Edinburgh.
Hmmm..not sure that £100 per night in a 3* is a deal. Even half-board. And the, even more expensive, 4* Prince Regent can't make up its mind if its in London or Chigwell (Essex) so covers all bases!

Could somebody please explain their reason for voting cold? would like to know as it seems like a good deal and was thinking of booking for myself
No idea either, for once this hotel is actually where Superbreaks claim.
Heat from me
Never been to Harrogate before, do you know if the location is within walking distance of main attractions?
I live in Harrogate, yes, it's as central as it gets.
Hi, can you settle an argument for me? A colleague and I have had a long-standing disagreement about the pronunciation of 'Harrogate'. I have always maintained that it is pronounced 'Harrogut' (and I've lived in Yorkshire pretty much my entire life). My colleague - who lived there for a while - says she and all her friends who still live there - pronounce it as 'HarroGATE' (which naturally prompts some good-natured ribbing from me over what seems to be some sort of trumped-up verbal affectation to underline the 'poshness' of the place. But who is right?
Any comments from locals shedding light on this gratefully received. :)
If tha's from Yoksha tha sez HarroGUT! Same as Scarbra is, folk don't say Scarborrow
That's what I thought too: but I'm told that some locals DO call it HarroGATE (not according to currychops though).
Any other HUKD people living in Harrogate care to comment?
The only ones who call it HarroGATE are those who think a few bob raises themselves above everyone else.
It's 'arrygut' for the rest of us.
Are you saying you've actually HEARD Harrogate locals pronounce the place that way then (i.e. HarrowGATE)?
Yes, they are normally female, teak coloured, wearing designer clothes designed for someone twenty years younger than themselves and drive a Range Rover or something equally large yet amazingly don't actually seem to do anything for a living....

LOL: My suspicions confirmed then! Now, excuse me while I go and discuss these latest findings with my colleague..:{

Your colleague is correct...the Yorkshire accent in Harrogate is very "soft" but some residents from other parts of Yorkshire may well use the "gut"....happiest Town in the UK according to a Rightmove survey.
Skipton is according to another, Ripponden was regarded as the best village too.

There's something good about us Yorkshire folk.

Just as a comparison We have just got back from 4 nights/5 days in Disney hotel sequila lodge 2a&2c (7&5) in February half term and was only £522 total through official site. Took return flights from luton easy jet to CDG for 60 each, then private taxi transfer return £98 total via Resorthoppa. Booked last April. Had a great time
Is that hotel decent? the Disney hotel sequila lodge? thanks xx
Yes I would recommend. Nice swimming pool with slide for kids. short walk to village and park by the lake. We Upgraded to Golden Forest for £150 and got fastpass per person per day, free soft drinks all day (inc takeaway) waiter service, own breakfast area with no time slot/queue, hot breakfast as well as continental, nespresso coffee machine with pods, fridge, free cakes and snacks between 4 and 6pm, better location/room.... well worth it as meant we hardly spent anything once we arrived. if you have any other questions feel free to ask
thanks for all the info.
how many of you went?

Super breaks are a rip off imo.

When I used to work for hotels the prices people paid when booking though superb read where almost 50% higher than booking direct.

always call the place you want to stay at as you wan always barter a better price.

On the odd occasion I have tried this before the hotel has refused to match or beat the lowest available price online through Laterooms, etc
