Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in June 1938 in the first issue of Action Comics. He became the hero of his own cartoon series in 1941, with Fleischer Studios turning out 17 highly rated episodes over the space of two years. The first cartoon cost $50,000 to make, whilst the remaining 16 were given a $30,000 budget each.

You can indeed download these legally at

This is not an official Warner Bros release and will be the usual poor quality 16mm public domain standard.
I suggest if you care anything about seeing these amazing Fleischer cartoons remastered from 35mm elements get the WB release on amazon
