As the post says, it was not well received. In fact it was awful. You don't get many Blu-Rays for £4 yet so in that respect worth posting, but if you rate the deal in terms of enjoyment / no. of views you're likely to have then it stinks.

Well, I actually enjoyed the film - Kevin Spacey was brilliant as Lex Luther. Although Brandon Routh isn't a patch on the dearly missed Christopher Reeve.

Looking forward to the Superman bluray boxset that is out soon (although I will probably wait until the price goes down)

Heat Added for the deal!

I really enjoyed movie!

Crap film, copying the first Christopher Reeve film.
And badly.
Brandon Routh wasn't a good Superman. Bad choice. No surprise they didn't make a follow up
Wouldn't buy it for a quid at Poundland (which is where it'll end up)

Awful film...

Originals are extremely dated now but still very watchable and comical....Superman IV is a joke...watched part of it on TV once and was not impressed at all...

Freezing cold...

decent price, but i'm waiting for the new boxset which hopefully will include this film albeit a poor addition to the collection

Was on sky movies yesturday night which I watched. They tried too much to copy and lick the but of the orginal superman movie which is miles better than this rehash. If they tried to tell a new and different story then I think it would have been much better. Also poor action or lack of for a superman movie I must say...

I know what you mean could've had done with some humour that original reeve films had.I still like it sounds great in Hd sound)Onkyo 508)I paid £5 for it

A great price for a decidedly average film.

Its a "great price for a BluRay" if the film is worth watching.
This isnt.

I found the acting was fine, and agree Spacey was great - it was the script that was poor.
It was worth attempting to copy the orignal films and it was worth watching at the cinema at the time just to hear THAT theme so loud.... I saw it Imax 3D so it was quite a novelty at the time too, so treated it like it wasn't serious.

Spoiler alert below
Kevin Smith commented - paraphrasing massively here : at the end of superman II Lois is kissed and forgets Superman completely, but in Superman Returns it turns out she has a kid from him and she didn't seem too bothered by the fact it's potentially classed as rape.

not voting on this but agree it's a good price, maybe just for the extras..

great movie!

Hated it.

Kevin Spacey was playing Kevin Spacey playing Lex Luthor. Kate Bosworth was the worst casting in the history of movies. Routh's Clark was great, his Superman not so much.

Good movie. Far better than the over-rated chick flick Spider-Man movies, with the exception of the 1st or the dreadful 3rd X-Men movie.

The storyline sucked in this movie bigtime! Bring on The Man Of Steel 2012! 8)

I was lucky enough to go to the world premier, and as a big Superman fan I was most excited about the "nod" to the original films. Granted, not the best film, but for nostalgia this was a good watch...the plane save is a fantastic scene. And when that music kicks in, I almost made a mess in my seat...!

Oh, and hot. This is a good deal...this is about the deal, not personal tastes boys and girls!

I wouldn't care how cheap this was, I would not want to watch it again!

Wasn't it like the most expensive film ever made at the time of release?! What a waste.

apparently it's a terrible transfer:

(still a good price though, so a "hot" deal.....)

Very diplomatic...I'm suddenly reminded of a current TV ad.

"I like..."
"..old movies.."
"...like the Godfather..."
"...3..."
"...It's not considered the best one."

Bad film, good price.
