Cheaper, so voted hot, but is it really any good? The box is quite small, so speakers must be small

Better sound than any speakers around £100 quid. Fact. As I have bought 2 of these over the years. Not cutting edge tech but damn they sound good, decent battery life considering the thump they give out as well.

I've had a set for goodness knows how many years and they are really good. I bought the Orbitsound 360 speakers, that were on a deal here the other week, as a replacement, and they were garbage in comparison, so I sent them back.

The only issue I have had with these is the batteries failed after three years or so. I did actually take the speakers apart and replaced the NiMh cells, but it was about the most awkward job possible - they are clearly very much designed to be disposable/non-user serviceable - lots of hotmelt glue and hidden screws everywhere. And the new batteries only worked for a little while, I think the charging circuit is kaput, lot's of other users with similar problems. It might be a failed diode I read somewhere, but I couldn't be bothered to strip them down again, so when I saw this deal I snapped up another set - thanks OP!

Hmm, the one I bought turned up today. It appears to be new but the lack of an instruction booklet suggests that it's been repacked, and it doesn't work. Plugged in it shows a green fully charged battery light but it won't turn on. Anyone else got theirs yet?

Mine awaits me at post office.
I did have a faulty one new years ago but Amazon replaced it no questions, shame you could only get a refund here as they sold out.

Will update tomorrow when I collect from Royal Mail......

Well mine works, not sure on the battery though as its red already after 5 mins. Will run dead and charge fully to check.

Maybe these are all faulty?? Mine was sealed (with manual, euro plug though!)

I fear they might be a batch of faulty customer returns that have been sitting around for a while and are now being passed off as new. I wouldn't set too much score by the seals, the box of mine was quite dusty and scratched - and under a magnifier you can see dust, fibres and scratches that run under the seal. That's not to say the vendor knew that it was repacked, it could be someone else in the chain has pulled a fast one.

Oh well, I will just get my refund and keep looking for suitable replacement for my old set. I have seen several rather cool diy portable bluetooth speaker projects on the web and I would really like to have a go at something similar, it's just I don't have a lot of time. Anyway thanks djjinx1, it was worth a punt :)

mine came without charger and audio lead, they said to send picture of ports on speaker so they could see if they have any in stock. am guessing they are waiting for faulty one to come back to send me leads. so not tested yet.

Did you send yours back? I noticed that the seller had 12 for sale again - maybe the twelve he sold us - the shyster!
