Are there any reviews yet?
#2
As far as i know there are none at present as it is due out in March :)

i've seen updated videos, the game scales well even on older hardware. 20 quid is hardly breaking the bank. they have added new bits to the game so, yeah, why not!

Smoking hot for a new PC release!

First version was awesome... doesnt work well on windows 7 lets hoep they have fixed that with this game :) Heat and rep

Good price, almost ordered at £24.99 the last day.

It's the same price at Gamestation too. Plus there's 6% Quidco at both stores.

Not a review as such, but should give you a pretty good idea:

Voted HOT just because it's a stonking price.

Great price, absolutely loved the first one

I HATED the first one... it was everything that Total Annihilation was not. Considering I bought the set (expansion), I really felt cheated... oh well.

Love the first one and still play it regularly.
It does have some problems on Win7 though (tends to crash after a game has ended when you try and go back to the main menu - not the worst problem but mildly annoying)

For £20 the sequel has to be worth a punt methinks!

Unfortunately this is more of a console port and therefore wont be as feature rich as the predecessor.

1) no Ladder
2) no replay function
3) no spectator option
4) no mods
5) no custom maps/editor

think I will wait for a demo or something, tend not to bother with pre-orders.

I hated the first one too. Though I am considering trying to play it again on newer hardware. Don't like the sound of these Win 7 problems though.

That's fairly annoying. The original one was the other way round: a bad PC port to consoles.

Good spot!
Was going to ignore pre-order and wait for the inevitable mandatory major patch that will make the game actually playable - as per previous: TA: Kingdoms; Supreme Commander- but, just read a Chris Taylor interview and am now in a too anticipatory excited state not to order straight away.
Very little info about the min. spec. Could only find details on Amazon.com.
For an extra £4.74 you could go to Amazon and get a bonus map! Must be a flipping good map for that price ;) And Play have two bonus maps for another £10'er. Seems like a strange concept to me, that certain multiplayer battles on bonus maps can only be played between people who used the same retailer!
Heat added.
**** in the Chris Taylor interview I read, he discusses the game Demigod from last year, and the veteran upgrade of skills system that is being used in an enhanced way in SC2 - So, I also bought Demigod from Game, for £9.99 - not the best reviews, but should be enough entertainment for the price.

It tends to crash after a multiplayer game has ended when you try and go back to the main menu.
Generally though its alright in game.

Also if you alt-tab whilst playing it tends to crash - especially if you have multiple monitors in use.

It's £24.99 now...

It's gone up to £24.99 now. Thank god i bagged it in time.

Supcom was one of the finest RTS games of the last decade, let's hope this one carries the flame.

Thanks to OP for a bargain!
