These Swan hoovers are ****. Bought two of them from littlewoods last time they were 'cheapish'. Both snapped at joint of folding handle after approximately 12 months in exactly the same place. The plastic is very thin at the folding handle and will eventaully snap, very poor design. I wait to be shot down, however, I am basing my opinion on the very real experience of owning two of these.

i have looked around for a while for a hoover a this one does look and lot more sturdy and durable than others i have seen for more money and if it last for 12 months for under £50 with daily hoovering i will be very happy

Hey, you must have loads of cash or are very easily pleased. Really should be looking for better quality, even at £50. Clearly these items are not fit for purpose. All previous hoovers we have had lasted for years, and my wife hoovers daily. We are now using her old hoover and it is over five years old, is still in good working order and all hanging together as it should. Got it out of Argos for less than £40. Loks something like this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4061973/c_1/1%7Ccat_10198386%7CVacuum+cleaners%7C10198408/Trail/searchtext%3EHOOVER.htm
Or what about this one? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4061722/c_1/1%7Ccat_10198386%7CVacuum+cleaners%7C10198408/Trail/searchtext%3EHOOVER.htm

Honestly, I don't work for Argos, just making some sensible comparisons.
