The carbon footprint of a potato? I think I'm gonna go and hug a tree to make up for it :)

We have roast sweet potatoes too with ours. Lovely balance of flavour with the richness of the beef

I've never tried them roasted, I'll have to give um a try. Does anyone know a good way of softening them somehow to make them easier to chop into sticks for fries? I find them a nightmare to prepare!

Try putting them in the microwave for a few mins... I do this with butternut squash and it softens them...makes it much easier to peel.. Remember to **** them with a fork first though.

I've just started weaning my 6 month old. Like his older brother he's loving sweet potatoes! They're in loads of baby recipes. I make sweet potato and ginger soup too, we all love that.

Love sweet potato wedges. Get some from Asda and some from Aldi (as they're slightly different varieties), chop them up, drizzle with oil and 30 mins later you've got lovely soft wedges- a few mins more and they'll crisp up a little bit.

according to mysupermarket.co.uk the equivalent pack is £1.50 elsewhere

They tend to be about this price in aldi most of the time.

did you know that sweet potatoes count as one of your 5 a day but normal potatoes don't?
#34
There's no Aldi near me and I've been paying £1.50 a pack so I was happy :)

Hot oven, some oil, some Nandos salt and some parsley, 30-40 mins NOM! Sweet potatoe mash is good too.
