The screen is nice, but it's ruined by the plastic cover. Feels cheaper than my old Orange San Fran mk1 phone when using the touchscreen. Scratches, smudges, glare galore.

Excellent price though. Personally I'd wait for a decent Vita 2000 deal though. Small downgrade in image quality for a much better machine, battery life up by 2 hours, smaller/lighter/easier to hold, nice smooth gorilla glass covering screen, micro USB, improved buttons, and it just downright looks much better than the chunky monkey original. The build quality is also a lot better, contrary to mainstream idiots like IGN, as theres no more creaking or flexing. Oh, and no more fake chrome accents.

Ah, so apart from a slightly inferior screen everything else is better.

Pretty much. I'm fairly certain that the original also has Gorilla Glass though.
Basically they both have their pro's and cons. I wouldn't pay more for a slim model but I wouldn't avoid it either.

Nah its definitely a plastic screen sadly. I've compared them side by side. A clean, freshly washed thumb pressed on the screen of both devices shows a massive smudged fingerprint on the old vita, vs nothing on the new one due to the gorilla glass' coating.

Plus theres the whole one screen feels cheap when touching it vs the high end smartphone feel of the new vita.

I'm sure loads of people wont be bothered by the glare, scratches, etc on the plastic screen, but for me personally I'd rather be able to use my vita outdoors if i could, which the vita 2k allows.

Or if you have money to burn, it's possible to source a gorilla glass type screen protector for the vita from china. They're very rare though these days.

Edited By: striker33 on May 10, 2014 18:08
it's good but would rather the pay £30 extra for tearaway and a 16gb memory card, the other half just got the slim model so I wanted the oled but can't decide tbh -no vote

There is also the same deal but with Ryse: son of rome or Dead rising 3 instead of Forza

so there is NO xbox one then !!!! didnt think so for that price, but i agree the title is mis- leading ... how comes moderators have not picked that up ?
I think the title wording should be changed, it's quit mis-leading for those looking to quick click the heat.
Better deals out their try gumtree or cash converters.

Risk is a major factor here, As Sweet Buzzards have the same item on Amazon, Same price but listed as Grade B but yet still listed as like new, You have been led to believe this item is a Grade A refurb as it is listed as that, Yet on Amazon they list one at Grade B but yet still Used - Very Good.

I know which one i'm risking (_;)

Grade B one is on their website for £86.99, don't know how much they are asking on amazon?

Update. Sweet Buzzards received the joypad and sealed game back and now accuse me of returning a different controller. This is the controller they sent me and which I returned, the photograph was taken as soon as I saw the fault (immediately):
http://screencast.com/t/ACbQ1y7gnd5

In addition to that damage there was brown grime within the joypad case seals, not what you'd expect from a refurbished item. the joypafdd look=ed s igf they just ran the thing over with a duster and some pledge. This is what they now say:
"Thank you for your email. I have had a look into this for you and can confirm that we have received your return. Having passed the controller returned to the testing department we do not believe the controller returned is one supplied by us as it shows heavy signs or wear and each of our controllers are security marked, this is missing from the controller. As the game has been returned and is still sealed we would be more than happy to process a refund for the cost of the game. Please can you advise if you would like us to return the controller or dispose of it?"

I have raised a paypal claim in response and would advise people to think carefully before using the company. They basically refuse to refund me because it has the wear and damage I reported when I got it. They claim to have used a security device (paint, uv?) but that it's no longer on the item. Presumably if their staff can miss two areas of physical damage and brown/beige fecal-like matter in the seals, then they can equally forget to secure the item too - if that is in fact true. I am extremely annoyed with these people.
Joypad arrived with sizable chunks taken out of the left thumbstick. Not happy. I;ve not opened the game so I am asking for a full refund.
Is this the play and charge controller, or the one that needs batteries?
They'll be giving away ghosts by end of summer the way things are going.
good price, could just get the pads and sell the awful cod game. For my PC, was going to order 4 new wireless gamepads but will wait for the xbox one pads to be officially supported on Windows rather than spend £100 on older tech.

No you don't. Mine isn't rooted and Nexus Media Importer works just fine with an OTG cable and USB stick out of the box.

How things change in a year, thats not a bad program by the looks of it but I wouldnt want to buy it but tbh you dont have to if you have aptoid. :) Thanks for the heads up on it

I'm not going to vote hot or cold because I've only played Ps3 version. It's this version better than Ps3 version? I highly doubt it. As assassin's creed has been greatly over-killed.
Wii-U is also a good console with very few good games out for it. November 29th will also be good for Wii-U as Mario 3d is out. That and Ps4 out same day November 29th is my Xmas day this year. B-)
How exactly do you "refurb" a game?!

The disc is either scratched or not. The box is either cracked or not. The inserts are either torn, folded or not.
aibon

The Wii U is an interesting console with a few decent games. Sonic Lost world just bombed with the critics so that isn't helping this console. January 2014 I expect the Wii U to be £99, I might get one then.

You really expect it to drop to half its current price in 3 months? Good luke waiting for that. And since when has Sonic been a reason to buy a Nintendo? Its true Nintendo has dropped the ball with slipped release dates for A list franchises but you just know they are going to be done right when they are finally released. That is why I play Nintendo

Your correct about new consoles. But you can pick up a Wii U pre owned now for £150.

http://www.game.co.uk/en/white-wii-u-basic-console-186639?pageSize=20&categoryIdentifier=233218

I expect that to drop in price in the next 3 or so months.
The RRP for Wii U has only been reduced by 10% in the first year (Trade price was dropped by £30 to retailers) for Nintendo this means they need to sell 2 games to make a profit per console, the attach rate is 2-4 games per console on average (1.2 in US) so they are not losing a massive amount of money.

But yeah expecting the console price to drop by another 50% (So 66% less than launch price) in 3 months or even a year or two is hugely unrealistic, if anything additional gamepads will cost £99.
Aretak
fishmaster
January 2014 I expect the Wii U to be £99
Ha. Good luck with that, buddy. The whole reason Nintendo are releasing a whole bunch of console plus game bundles at the moment is so that they don't have to drop the price. They're trying to avoid adding to the perception that the console is struggling, which is what a price drop always indicates. It won't be getting an official price drop until at least E3 next year.

Sonic should have been a top game, however it's turned out to be rubbish. If I put a Dreamcast next to the Wii U and put the top ten games on that console against the Wii U, the Dreamcast would smash it, in terms of quality games. A 14 year old console against a new one. Nintendo have failed with the Wii U, it's a slow-mo train wreck. Not dropping the price doesn't mean the console hasn't failed, they'd have more chance if they came out with some aggressive pricing, but now it's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Indeed you can, you can check with their twitter account but I remember them confirming it was fine as they treat each order as seperate cases. You can't obviously trade in the same game for the same offer but splitting them is okay.

Why not click through on the deal and find out for yourself?

I meant generally speaking, Grade A and B etc mean nothing to me I was merely looking for a little advice
This company is legit as I ordered the A grade refurbs they had recently. fantastic price....couldn't find cheaper and condition was good. some slight marks on the edge of the screens, one was perfect...luck of the draw
Don't worry, these will get even cheaper. The new one is already out in the US and expected here next month.

You take your chances with a B grade.

If that is the case, why does it not state that in the description?
If the item was perfect it would be an (A grade), B grade indicates some minor damage which is not specified, hence why you take your chances when you purchase a B grade item. Myself I pay a little extra and always go for an A grade, and I have never been disappointed with any purchase of this grade.
Yeah point should be made to sign the delivery note on any refurbished goods as unchecked!!

There is no confusion. And they don't *have* to tell you it doesn't void your statuary rights because its the law (ever seen a sign saying no murdering? :P).
.

Perhaps you should aquaint yourself better with the SOGA, if you have a look at the following link, (page 39, bullet point 4) it clearly states, If you give a guarantee it must • state that it does not affect the customer’s legal rights.
There is a very good reason for this, a lot of customers, (as seen in this community), think that if it states on a website that there is, say, a 6 month's guarantee given, that is the only protection they get, (which a lot of those retailers that give these limited guarantees seem to want customers to think), but by retailers legally having to include that the guarantee 'does not affect the customer’s legal rights', this then makes it clearer to the customer, reminding them that they do have more rights, so countermanding any potentially misleading guarantees offered.

The point about a retailer stating an item 'may' have scratches, is that the word 'may' is ambiguous, it can mean anything. They don't put that the item 'may' have been used as a poop-scoop, it probably hasn't, but it 'may' have been, so why don't they put that in the adverts? As far as I can see, the word 'may' in relation to scratches is used as a general get out clause, so therefore it is not an accurate description of the product offered because the customer cannot tell what condition the item they buy will be in.when they receive it. I know about the Distance Selling Regulations, but if the customers were given a more accurate description in the first place, then customers would not be put to that position of having to return an item because of an incorrect description. Even eBay insists on accurate descriptions of products from private sellers, and will refund customers if they are misled, so why is it so difficult for online retailers?

http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/738369/738375/OFT002_SOGA_explained.pdf

Issue with the Sales of Good Act is the fact that most companies flat out deny it exists. I've had numerous issues with trying to use that act, even the consumer advice line is useless as all they advise you to do is write a letter and if no response then claim via small claims court. So many hoops you have to go through to claim against retailer...Then there's the issue of them trying to fob you off with manufacturer warranty...

I had one company who wouldn't let me send back a television until I tried to get manufacturer to repair the television 3 times! Then they wouldn't refund until they checked the television over which took over 6 weeks! You can't claim against amazon, as they have offices in Luxenbourg which according to the consumer helpline means you can't use the sales of good act against them...Not that amazon acknowledges this exists nor do they know about the 2 year European warranty...

Issue is claiming against retailers is quite difficult...I had companies threaten me, tell me they'd sue me, put the phone down on me and even tried to accuse me of damage on a television even though I signed unchecked. They claimed they had checked the television over and have CCTV footage of them doing so, which I didn't believe of course...Eventually they agreed to pick the TV up for a fee of 50 pound, so they wouldn't make a loss of course...I did argue since the TV was in a poor condition and had a rather large scratch which was visible when viewing and highly distracting (Not fit for purpose) that they would have to pay for return shipping and even quoted the distance act. They continued to argue that the law isn't fair and they were unwilling to accept return unless I paid...I gave up and just paid the 50 pound out of the total refund.

The point is, even though the consumer rights in the UK are quite strong on paper that is, if you're willing to fight. Warning, you may be accused and bullied of things but remember persistence is key. If however you can't manage to cope with such situations then it'll be harder to claim against retailer which means in practise the laws aren't as strong as they should or could be.

This was their reply-

"I can see the scratches clearly. This TV is in an appalling condition. This TV would have been rechecked before delivery and we have at least two other people, including myself, saw that this item was in no such condition before delivery.
I drove the van myself for delivery so it is not even a case of bad courier driver or mishandling. Given the poor condition the TV is now in, we are not able to do anything for you"

Remember people, the guy who delivered it to me did not check tv on delivery. I signed unchecked! The TV was refurbished by the way and was called grade A by them...Plus, the way they packed the tv was poorly done and the stand was rubbing against the actual screen of the tv!
