You didn't get the ass in that profile pic eating all those sweeties ;-)

Ha thats so funny you should say that coz I love sweets and most people don't realise they have no fat in them alot better for you than chocolate or crisps or bread. Although i'm sure there are plenty of dentists out there waiting to disagree :)

Agreed, but I'm a sucker for a square of dark chocolate every now and again :)

No fat for sure, just totally empty calories that are of little or no use to the body: unless you're addicted to the highs and lows of a high sugar intake.

Jumps down from soapbox.... ;)

Or like me you may play rugby. If I dont eat a load of sweets before a game I usualy use the glucose gel bars :) need the high to push me into the game. Sugar is needed for the body to aid recovery after the game so I'm assuming you don't have to have a degree in nutrition or sports science to know that when used corectly sugar as well as all other foods is a good fuel for our body.

Let's both get on the soapbox together and make beautiful music!! :D

Whilst I agree with your premise about the need for "sugars", highly processed sugar is not good for anyone. By highly processed I am suggesting the likes of a standard 1kg bag of sugar, all sweets and all fizzy drinks. At a slight tangent, the only thing worse than full sugar fizzy drinks are the ones labelled diet that use Aspartame and Saccharin - don't take my word for it (not that you would :)), Mr Google is your source.
