I am looking for a new one as my last "no-name" one cannot find win7 drivers. this does have win 7 drivers, but the only review is a not that great.

I fancy the 12 year warranty though ;-)

I bought this from play for £10 when it was first released and it picks up my Netgear DGN2000 perfectly through Vista, can't be sure about 7.

this was the comment in the play site

"tomthomb | 18/02/2010 |

I have had no joy with this item. No reliable connection can be established, despite being well within range of my n draft router. The original b/g standard card that I have connects instantly, although slow, due to technical limitations. Yes, it's cheap, but no, it doesn't work! Quite disappointed!"

Cheers!

Worth a try with 12yr warranty

worth a punt for that price I think :-)

Sorry to sound like a noob, but this is for connecting a computer that doesn't have built-in wifi to my router isn't it ?

cheers :)

Has anyone been able to get this to work in linux. I have installed the windows driver via the method linux suggests but it doesn't seem to connect

EDIT: btw i bought this when it previously appeared on HUKD, and during that post them seemed to sort out the win7 issue

Likewise. Great for the money and worked immediately on Vista with no worries.

Not worth it at this price, when for £3 less you can get a better brand D-LINK USB 802.11N Wireless Adaptor from Argos Clearence, eBay item number 330302845110

Don't bother posting as a sepeate deal though as the mods won't allow it.

I ordered the edimax one from play, although they delivered a different model. Instead of a USB stick its and aerial/antennae with a USB connector. Works great though. But I am sick of Play.com getting my order wrong, they have done it so many times now and its such a pain to send it back.

Rep to J400uk - much better quality product. D-link one is more suitable for desktops though due to the irregular size but it runs at draft 2.0 n speeds (300 compared to the sweex 150).

One final point - no windows 7 drivers available for the d-link card but some available for sweex card:

http://www.sweex.com/en/assortiment/internet-networking/lan-cards/LW153/drivers_firmware

D-link has officially discontinued the card but will keep supporting it until at least october so hopefully a win 7 driver will appear by then.

Hmm not sure about having a big long cable trailing out of the laptop though...

Working ok after disabling the existing non windows software on Laptop and disabling on board wireless on the bios. Had to reactivate 'Wireless Zero Configuration'. Seems to be working well with existing D Link Vigin N router and much faster and more reliable.
