No it won't.

That's why the Microsoft adapter is so expensive, because it is the only one that will work.

I would be interested to know if this is linux compatible though.

HOT price BTW

I have the G version, it has a Racom RT73 chip

What do they do ?

They connect your PC to a home network wirelessly, so you don't have to run messy cables round the house. They're a really great piece of kit if you have a wireless router which is already transmitting a signal.

I have a wireless 'G' router which I got with Virgin Media, will this adapter work with that, or do I need a 'N' Router?
#12
This uses the Ralink RT3070 chipset, and has available linux drivers.

Yeah it should work no problem with your current wireless b/g router.
#14
I'd also like to know if this works with linux. I gave up ubuntu once in the past because of trouble with wireless issues.

It will work, but only at 'G' speeds, to go at 'N' speeds you need both router and adapter to be 'N'.

300Mbps version at Dabs for £13.60 inc delivery if anyone needs something faster. Has Ok reviews.

I'm assuming it's faster anyway, and that they're not just quoting (non-)duplex speeds or something...?

well sort of...you can buy a wireless 'ethernet bridge' which will work with the xbox 360 and they're usually a fair bit cheaper.

Though your best going with the official one i think to be sure it works...

Hate the fact that xbox 360 still doesn't have built in wi-fi :x

It's not on the list but that does'nt mean it won't work. Think I might chance it for that price.

The following devices have been tested and are known to be compatible with the WD TV HD Live Media Player.

does this support windows 7 64bit?

Previous version does so this one should too

Edit

If you get it, use these drivers for the Ralink RT3070, they are better than the Sweex ones.
#27
Yes it works fine with Windows 7 64-bit - Windows finds the drivers automatically. I've also got it working with Connectify (download from http://connectify.me) so you can turn your PC into an 802.11n Wifi access point with WPA2 encryption.

I see this is Draft 4, Does that mean it will only work with draft 4 routers?.
#29
I've got one of these, but it only shows as being connected at a speed of 39Mbps to my BT Homehub 2.0 wireless N version). My wireless N notebook shows up as 130Mbps. Can anyone think why this is happening?
