There are plenty of people looking around to switch their BT broadband, and this may fit the bill - unusual in that it's fixed price, and you won't get hit with one of the frequent BT-style price increases that wastes so much time all round.

£90 TCB on top too. ;) - £110 Quidco (thanks, lump :))

£27 a month - includes line rental, no setup fee
No usage caps and speeds up to 38Mb
Up to 4.5x faster than standard broadband

Price fixed for 24 month contract (18 months via Quidco link)

Add flexible landline call plans

All our broadband plans come with a Fixed Price Guarantee. The price when you sign up is the same price you’ll be paying right through your contract throughout your minimum contract term.

No price rises guaranteed until 2019
Fixed price for your whole contract

Calling Features (included free)

Our Calling Features let you do so much more with your calls. They can make sure you never miss a call, help you when you need to get through to a busy line and even make sure you don’t miss an important event. You can even make calls involving more than two participants. Our Calling Features include: Call Divert, Call Waiting, Ringback, 3 Way Calling, Caller Display, Reminder Call.

[Calling Features are free for customers on one of our fixed-price packages.]

Also includes free SIM - each month your SIM includes:

500MB Data
200 minutes
Unlimited texts

or £110 through Quidco

Whist the price is fixed which is a plus point, being tied in for 24 months to this company for me is just madness. Ive just moved from them to BT.

TT customer service is appalling and their lack of knowledge on technical matters dreadful.

I appreciate that this is the traditional view of TalkTalk, but I never found that with them at all. They were far better than BT to deal with, and I only switched back to BT for the cashback and because TalkTalk weren't at that point offering sensible retention deals.

Trustpilot, for example, rates TalkTalk considerably better than BT - which doesn't surprise me. There are far more satisfied TalkTalk customers than you might think - it's just fashionable to knock it. ;)

Any fibre/line rental deals out there better than this at a fixed £27 per month, all in?

I'd love to find one if there is - switching to this deal very shortly, unless someone can better it? :|

They may have changed the wording, but from my reading of the relevant page, the £27 per month fixed price is for an 18 month contract. Link. It's £28.50 per month for a 24 month contract.

I've been with TalkTalk for a couple of years now and I've had no issues with their service.

It may well be the traditional view but I was commenting from my own personal experience and two of my friends who have also recently left TT. If our experience matches that of the traditional view then one can only surmise that the traditional view is correct.

I've just got this retention deal form BT £27.99 pm for 52 mb infinity 1 and line rental with weekend calls. Oh and a BT smart hub router on 18 month contract.

It's 24 months if you click through. Applies to new and existing customers but probably of most use to new customers able to get cashback. And particularly BT customers who can't get a decent retention offer.

Price rises in contract can be a good thing as it gives you an opportunity to exit your contract. That's how I ended up getting completely free line rental, broadband and calls with Sky between Nov - now, and I'm now switching to NowTV (still Sky) - thx to cash back I'll be able to get another three months free.

The HG633 router is woeful, but I've never had any other issues other than 2 calls a week on occasion claiming to be from talktalk, telling me my router is putting out dodgy stuff. Thanks to some hacker they have all my account details. Hopefully a group will get together, I'm willing to join it, and take him for everything he's likely to earn in his lifetime.

Never had an issue with Talk Talk, loads of probs with billing at BT and Virgin.

I've just ended my BT contract early due to their price rises - their second in my first 12 months of contract.

I've signed up with Talk Talk and am getting £27 / month for 18 months.

If you go through Quidco, you get £110 cashback.

I like that you can add a 'speed boost' on a month-by-month basis - £5 extra for the 80/20 speeds.

For now I am happy, and this should really go hot given the pricing. The only cheaper fibre I could find was Origin broadband, but that was only £21.50 for 6 months, then £31.50 for a further 12 month contract duration.

Thanks for the Quidco tip - I can use that! When I checked, TCB was better. How did you get the 18 months instead of 24 at that price?

The 18 month deal was just on the link I followed from Quidco.

I`m considering talk talk, moving from bt due to their pricing. Reviews are not great but I would appreciate some feedback from talk talk current customers. I pay bt around £49 a month for line rental , 17mb broadband and anytime calls. My broadband speeds are good, I checked with Virgin but they can give me fibre , but not a phone line, wonder why they dug up almost every street in our town. I would be happy to move to fibre but I do need to have a phone, and my broadband needs to be truly unlimited .
Talk Talk reckons my speed on their 38mb fibre would be around 30mb and I would use the inclusive sim.

As a reasonably recent user of BT fibre, TalkTalk fibre, Plusnet fibre and SSE fibre I think I've got a bit of experience here - and with the exception of SSE (which was dreadful) there wasn't a lot to choose between them.

TalkTalk's certainly no worse than BT for reliability, and for customer service. In fact I found they went out of their way to help, and that's never the case with BT.

Anytime calls with TalkTalk looks to be rather cheaper than BT at £5pm - and that includes calls to mobiles. BT won't offer a fixed price either. I think you'd probably save quite a lot on the figures you quote.

I've been with talktalk for 6 years. Never had an issue other than the crap router. Cheapest and offer good retention deals. CS is excellent too so no complaints from me.

Although the BT fibre deal with cashback is cheaper atm...
#19
can you use your own router?

jumped on this anyway, the guy i spoke to at BT when i gave them notice, just said,

"that's it logged on the system, your end date is 15th March, if you don't leave before then you will have to pay the contract amount remaining"

I asked about the 14 days notice and when i could sign up to a new provider, he said

"what are you talking about? You have to leave before the 15th March, sign up to someone now"

I'm now worried that will be getting charged the full amount for leaving because he didn't seem to know much

As far as I can see, you have the option of adding a TV box for £25 without any extra commitment. That seems like a decent deal for a new Youview box.

Just selected this deal been with talktalk for years couldnt find anything better fibre, line rental and free sim card for £27 was previously paying about £26.50 for same so no big increase and no disruption gonna get the free sim buy cheap handset and use as spare talktalk sending out new upgraded router. Also thinking of buying speed boost £5 one month to try the 78mb. Can still cancel if anyone knows a better deal

24 month contract err no thanks! also wouldnt trust them after losing everyonrs personals details lastly the customer service are mainly based in south africa they hardly cummunicate and listen to your problems

I can safely say this is the worst company in Britain and urge people to stay away they clearly not intetested in keeping people personal data safe not providing good customer service

Good Luck to Charles Dunstone for turning a failing business around

TalkTalk's much criticised by people who've never used it. Those of us who have know it to be somewhat better than BT, and much on a par with Plusnet. None of them can match Zen - but they don't match Zen prices, either. Check out the reviews - BT's reviews are rather worse than those of TalkTalk.
