Was sure I saw this posted weeks ago but, can only find the one highlighting deals @£7.99.

Decent film in my opinion.
#2
yeah it was posted before because some guy was trying to say that it was no better quality than dvd because it wasnt a summer blockbuster film like spiderman lol

WEAPON X - If your passing there again, you wouldn't fancy picking us up a copy, more than happy at bunging you a couple of quid to cover postage etc

I knew i should have bought a few LOL. If i'm near again soon and they have any left i may just do so. I remember someone posted Superman Returns for £4 at their local store that's what i was actually looking for but they didn't have it here :(

found The Lakehouse for 4.99 in mine, and i ****ing love that film. probably the gayest film for a bloke to like, but i dont care! Paid for it and turns out the idiots didnt even have it in stock :@!

Our local had The Lakehouse but not Swordfish. Was very tempted to get the Lakehouse for a fiver but I'd probably never watch it
#7
Bloody Brilliant film.

Loved it, got it on DVD and HD-DVD, the opening sequence in HD is amazing!
#8
The Reading branch had about 6 left.

I tried to get this from the Chester Toys R Us when it was last posted but all they had was The Lake House for £4.99. Didn't appeal to me so i didn't buy it but watched it on BBC1 the other night and thought it was ok.

Hopefully they will have swordfish in stock next time im up that way.

Oh, now, isn't there a certain scene in this film that would be very nice in HD.......

That's the only scene in the WHOLE movie worth watching - load of old toss and highly disappointing movie for me

Decent price for a Bluey though - not that I'd be wating to watch it :whistling:

And the small matter of Halle Berry's rather appealing mamory glands ...

Mmmm. Halle Berry gave an outstanding performance - especially in HD.

Followed closely by the sight of Vinnie Jones trying his hardest to act, but sadly falling into the Sean Connery trap of playing exactly the same character (i.e. Vinnie Jones) irrespective of what was probably written on the script.

Excellent film however, and heat & rep added ;)

A reminder of Halle's role in Swordfish (family safe photo selected ;) )

Its just a great movie. I cant say much about it without spoiling it, but it's just a good love story film. Well worth a fiver on Blu Ray

LOL - thought I'd check the reviews because I think it's an awful film

Rating 25 %

Consensus: Swordfish is big on explosions, but critics dislike how it skimps on plot and logic. Also, the sight of a person typing at a computer just isn't that interesting.

Early in Swordfish, John Travolta's character delivers a little speech denigrating Hollywood movies, particular emphasis on bad writing.

The speech ends with an idea that is echoed later in the movie's high-powered, elegantly photographed but meaningless action. Presumably screenwriter Skip Woods meant it to foreshadow the plot.

The joke's on him. What his snappy patter really foreshadows is more bad writing in yet another bad movie from one more overpaid movie star who has more ego than taste.

A bloated, juvenile exercise, Swordfish is riddled with factual error and brainless sensation. It calls itself a ''thriller,'' apparently because it is loaded with pointless machinations that pile up into a tortured wreck of narrative desperation. This plot doesn't twist; it twitches.

Mr. Travolta's character, Gabriel Shear, allegedly ''the world's most dangerous spy,'' is a murderous maniac who strong-arms a righteous computer hacker into working for him. Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman) went to prison for hacking a privacy-busting government program and lost custody of his daughter to his alcoholic ex-wife and her porn-producer husband.

(It's a dead giveaway that you're in for a Bad Movie when it fabricates all sorts of of nutty, outrageous circumstances to make the hero sympathetic.)

Stanley gets dragged into Gabriel's wacky world to crack impossible computer codes, which he does in one-zillionth of the time it would take in real life, even with a gun to his head and a hooker's head in his lap. (I kid you not.)

Swordfish is like that, scene after scene of lurid, phony shocks, right down to Halle Berry's flash of her bare breasts — the very definition of gratuitous nudity.

In fairness, it might be possible to argue that director Dominic Sena needed to add a lot of distractions to keep the audience from paying any attention to the actual plot.

The movie features a notable cast, including the estimable Mr. Jackman, Don Cheadle and Sam Shepard, whose talents are utterly wasted. Their performances eventually all boil down to a kind of blank stare, as if hit with a blunt instrument.

Sit through this movie, and you'll know how they feel.
