I had a problem with this phone this night, as we changed time back from 2 to 1 am. It changed time from 2 to 1 firstly, but before that main clock showed proper time but the small top right clock stopped. I had to boot several times, but after 4 am when I looked on it it was alright, so it has a bug regarding winter/summer time change. :(

Good deal except it's t-Mobile :(

New Andriod sets coming soon too, which will blow this out of the water, Motorola Driod anyone?

IMO the Droid is fugly... HTC Leo is lush though

slight variation on the OP, i got

200 mins
unlimited text (which is currently showing as 200 text on myt-mobile so need to check this with them)
unlimited web
free handset
18 months
£22 p/m

Phone is stunning, the android market is so easy to use and there of tons of cool gadgets to fudge about with (my phone is now a metal detector-never going to need that but great for showing off ;))
I also cannot praise t mobile CS enough, they were really helpful and after using vodaphone and three *shudder* they seem in a different class !!

It is WinMo, but HTC have rewritten drivers etc so that it has "multitouch" a la the iphone using the capacitive screen. It also has the SnapDragon style 1ghz processor.

Amazing device...

Edit: I'd have it over the G2 ANY day of the week..

When are the new ones due? At the end of my three contract, and fancied one of these. Problem is my GF is on three, and the extra free mins between handsets are pretty useful.

But that means you cant download apps for the android market place doesnt it ? :S

If so we are talking about two different phones as i could say i would have the touch HD2 over the leo ?

What's the fair use on the internet?

How does this phone compare to a iphone ?

3GB per month, so it can be used as a tether

Texts are UNLIMITED as long as you dont send to over 90numbers a month as it would then be classed as a business phone. :)

I am looking at upgrading to the G2. Is this what they genuinely offered you because they're playing hard to get with me? I have researched this phone and it has mostly very good reviews but prob not quite as good as the new I phone.

Personally i prefer this, it just gives more freedom than the iPhone the way it can easily be used as storage device plus its definitely better to have a card slot rather than built in.

Also there are some other points, but you will be thinking well i would say that lol, but i know somebody who works for orange and i have they're discount code so i could just wait till next month and get the iPhone for the same price.

Although i dont want it because i have had the G1 and love HTC and Android,

Yeah this is what i genuinely got mate ...

800mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet
Extra 2GB card which will be returned tomorrow for either a larger card or some other accessories because it already has a 2GB card.
4 months insurance.
Insurance is £4.99 per month after that but can be cancelled at anytime - if the phone needs replacing due to loss or something its £30 excess (which is more than orange but the same as the rest and not bad for a new G2)

When it arrives tomorrow it should come with an invoice so i will take a pic of that and post it.

I got this phone from T-Mobile last week on £32 a month contract for 700 min unlimited Text and unlimited internet so after reading this was not to happy just phoned T-Mobile now and they said this handset wasn't being offered on this contract. The contract was on offer but definatly not with the G2 htc hero. On a lighter note the phone is well worth getting.

There's tons of comparison reviews but I haven't seen any saying the hero is better. It is however a lot cheaper. With phones like this and the palm pre Apple should really start worrying.

Personally I've bought a 2nd hand iPhone 3g and went with O2 simplicity 12 month contract with £100 quidco. Will be interesting to see if Apple still have their crown in a year.

All i can say mate, is when it comes tomorrow i will post confirmation. I'm going to give them another ring in about 15mins and get the person i speak to - to confirm what i am getting again.

Recently mobile choice awards gave the G2 phone of the year award & said for value for money G2 is better.

Value for money I'd maybe agree. If money is no option then it's an easy decision.

Nice one mate, good to hear.

Also dont forget if you get somebody else on T-mobile and ring up and say they recommended you - both you and them get £25 gift vouchers to spend almost anywhere on the high street plus 3 months unlimited T-T calls :)

The HD2 is the Leo (Leo was HTC's codemame for it)

Edit - BTW I think the deal is hot, I`m just talking about the comparison between the G2 and the HD2/Leo which someone else raised in the thread... :)
#39
Sorry James, too late now :(

Got mine 2-3 months ago :( paying full whack, though I did get a freebie bluetooth headset and car charger. If this deal is true, then it's fabulous.

Edit: Also just to add: Android > WinMo any day of the week, Snapdragon or not!

Against the iPhone - the iPhone's certainly a cool device, but the lack of multitasking makes it a toy! Though they do have some fabulous app development going on for them!

I love my Hero :-)
