Correct me if im wrong, but all the flexible boosters offered by t-mobile are supposed to cost £5 a month, unless its part of ur tariff.

Under my price plan section on t mobiles website i have the option to add boosters and they all are supposed to have free connection and the recurring cost is supposed to be £4.25 (ex vat) but on these 2 boosters (Euro Talk And Euro Text) its the other way round, connection fee = £4.25 and recurring cost = Free.

I dont know if its supposed to be like that but it seems like its either a glitch or a very good deal. Details of the boosters:

Euro Talk:

You'll get 15 minutes a month to make and receive calls whilst travelling in Ireland, Isle of Man, Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (excluding the Canary Islands and Balearics) and Sweden. Your calls are to the customers of UK mobile networks and UK numbers starting with 01, 02 and 03 (apart from Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man) and for calls to numbers in the countries in T-Mobile's six travel calling zones (apart from non geographic and premium rate numbers)

Euro Text:

You'll get 60 texts a month whilst travelling in Ireland, Isle of Man, Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (excluding the Canary Islands and Balearics) and Sweden. Your texts are to the customers of UK mobile networks and UK numbers starting with 01, 02 and 03 (apart from Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man) and for texts to numbers in the countries in T-Mobile's six travel calling zones (apart from non geographic and premium rate numbers)

Shame none of these boosters appeal to me.

i dont get how this is cold when it can save people a tenner each month. Its essentially free for the life of the contract for a one of fee of £5 per booster. These boosters may not appeal to many but when t mobile try to wiggle out of it, i expect a good will gesture or ill offer them 2 for 1. I.e, they can take both of these boosters back if they agree to give me one booster of my choice (1 that does appeal to me).

mate have some heat :)

i will only benefit from this next month as im going away to Portugal, but after that it wont cost me anything and if t mobile try to charge me, ill try to reach some sort of compromise that will be useful from that point onwards. The worst case scenario they tell me i cant have it and i ask them to refund my initial outlay. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

NO you wont

This is for calls and texts to europe not the other way round

It specifically says "whilst travelling in" and then the list of countries. That was pasted from their website.

"You'll get 15 minutes a month to make and receive calls whilst travelling in"

Same on mine to. Not useful to me but heat added. If they had such boosters for USA travel then it'd be even more awesome
#16
Sorry this isn't a glitch. These are non-recurring boosters.

You Pay £5 to get the cheaper calls for 1 month. You then have to reselect the booster if you want it the next month. This is prob cos most people go away for work or holiday then return to the UK so recurring charges would be asking from customer services problems.
#17
And are these not very good value for money? If you had 15 mins of incoming calls while abroad that would only be £3 as it is 19p a minute. 15 Mins Outbound would cost about £6 and 60 texts would be £6.60 so a small saving only if you use the full allowance.

According to the confirmation I got it stated the start date as my billing date and end date as "ongoing" and recurring charge as 0.00 Inc vat.
#19
Oh! Well let us know if it stays on your account after that. Though I guess you will need to pop abroad to make a call and then see if you are charged for it! Good excuse for a trip!

Just confirmed with t mobile that its a glitch, so get in there while u can. They told me its not supposed to be loike that and that they are raising it with the web team.

Also that if the investigation concludes their fault then a compensation might be due they said.

aerotech, i wont need to leave the country for that, it will appear under my services and my bill. Id rather have it on my account and not use it then to not have it at all, especially when it wont be costing me anything.
#22
Adnan786, tell me what does T-Mobile mean when they say 'compensation', i.e. does it mean that we have to paid it back if they change the charge?

This is good to have, but I don't think I will use it much. Like you Adnan786, if will be nice to have if it mean that it doesn't cost me anything (apart from the first £5 connection fee), but if it mean that T-Mobile want me to pay it back when they have change it back then it not worth the trouble.

They cannot charge for it or demand more money because their system confirmed a price so they are not allowed to and have to go by that. They will ofcourse try but you may have to stand ur ground. By compensation they mean that they will be offering me something for the hassle and inconvenience for displaying wrong information.

For all you doubters out there, this is how my services look now:

http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3531/12298180.jpg

Note, there is no recurring charge for the 2 boosters in question and its on for life, unless T mobile want to make me an offer. Hope more people had a little bit more faith.

And heres the funny thing. I estimated how much my bill should be this much including the new one off charges for these boosters and my bill has come to almost £20 less then what i calculated. I dont know why or how, because todays my billing date and its generated a bill amount, the actual invoice should become available tomorrow or so.

Hello Adnan786

I have just add those two boosters, and currently it is 'Pending', however when I looked at the detail on the 'Pending' page, it show a start date, but also and end date which is a months after.

I was wondering did you have the same thing at the 'Pending' stage?

Many thanks for all of your help

Hi, are u sure when u took it out it said "recurring cost free" and "connection cost £4.25"? Also did you add them from the "chargeable flexible boosters" section and not the "one off bundles" section? Also did u take it out the day i posted this or some time after? In mine when it was pending, the start date was set to the start of my billing cycle and the end date was "ongoing". Im thinking that you may have taken this offer up after they fixed the glitch, but i hope you took screen shots if you are sure that it said that the recurring fee would be free when u ordered it and that it didnt give an expiry date at the time of ordering.

As you can see from my screenshot above, its been added to my billing cycle and ive just been through my bill and they havnt even charged me for the connection cost, so technically i have got it for free for life or until we battle it out. But let me know how it goes.

P.s if you dont have screenshots or you're not too sure whether you took out the boosters before the glitch was fixed and if you dont need these boosters for travel then i would suggest you cancel them before your start date.

I did select them from a 'Chargeable Flexible Booster, and it is still Connection fee £4.25 and Recurring Cost Free, however when looking at the Pending page, it stated that Start Date and the End Date is a month later, so it work out the same, as you have to re-select it the month after, making it out as £5.00 (+VAT) a month.

I guess this is how they are "Fixing" the bug. It was a nice option to have, which could use occasionally, but I guess I don't need it. So I will just leave it for now.

Let me know how it turn out for you.

I just signed up and mine also says it will expire in a month .. let me know how you get on Adnan786.

Cheers

Hi guys, i took the boosters out when i first posted this thread, it could be that by the time you took it out, the glitch has been fixed by t mobile like they said they would.

Anyays this is how it appeared on my account

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/1544/booster6.jpg

I havnt rang t mobile since i last mentioned i did regarding this, since i need it for this month as it is and they said someone would call me back, but they didnt. I will see if i get charged for it next month and take it from there. All the best and let me know how u guys get on.
