I am Just outside a T-mobile Flex 25 contract (£25 per month) I contacted customer services today re upgrades

PLEASE NOTE ... ONLY AVAILABLE IF OUTSIDE CONTRACT.

The advisor suggested I re-contact them in january/feb as there would be more free phones (and New Models) available and In the mean time, so that I stayed with them whilst considering my options they will drop my my monthly charge to £8.75 per month.(No tie in) Advisor suggested it would be for approx 6 months (remining on the flext 25 product- £60 worth of calls/text per month) Cant be bad.........

Did you speak to customer service or customer retentions and what did you say exactly to get them to offer £8.75?
#2
Just rang customer services ( via my handset 150 to T mobile users)and asked what phones are available on upgrade........ wanting to stay with a sony ericsson....... then the offer was made.

Got something similar - they offered to half the cost of my u-fix for 6 months, which included the last month of my contract, so for the 6 months service, I'll pay £60, £20 of which I couldn't aviod, so the 5 months after my contract have a net cost of £40 or £8/mth. I was happy. I was actually ringing up to cancel (not fishing for a deal). They seem to be doing some good deals.

i am on a £20pm contract and they offered to put it to £5pm for up to 6 months while i decided what to do about renewing/cancelling.
#5
This isn't a 'HOT DEAL', simply a retention deal that people may or may not be offered.
#6
all they would offer me is ten quid a month off
or no money off and pay for a phone

My son is out of contract with t mobile do any of these deals you got come with a new phone.

Seems to be a tempory offer to tide over the christmas period....

Friend of mine received the same deal... was told that T Mobile have restricted the retentions dept's offers until the new yr... friend was adviced to take the offer and then call back in the new year to discuss new tariff/phone...

My contract ran out last year with T-Mobile.
Didn't need a new phone, so called them to tell them that & i was considering another network.
Don't know what package i am on but it's 100 free minutes/texts for £8.00 per month.

so you basically call up asking for phones refuse them and say you might leave then they should make the offer?

as im paying £30/£35 a month and am out of contract but want to stay with them till around march

CAREFULL !

I called them just out of contract and said I wanted the K850i as a free upgrade, told me no stock and wait till Jan/Feb and was told they would drop my line rental for 6 months whilst I thought about it. I thought ok but its cheaper to cancel and sighn up again as the phone is free for new customers yet my existing loyalty is costong me £250 for the handset !!! Its called a loyalty discount ! [email protected]@XX ive spent grands with them and I have nothing in return...

Now the crafty bit and you had all better check your tarriffs after you are offered the reduced line rental, I CALLED BACK TO CHECK WITH CUSTOMER SERVICES FOR THE REDUCED LINE RENTAL AND THEY ADVISED I HAD BEEN PUT ON AN 18MONTH CONTRACT AND ACKNOWLEDGED ITS A PROBLEM WITH THE GREEDY RETENTION DEPT
[/COLOR]

I went ballistics and wrote directly to the MD of T-mobile UK saying they were selling illegal contracts, within 5 mins I got a call from his secretary apologising but still didnt give me the phone I wanted so I told them up yours and now with £10 p/month Virgin 300 + 300.

cant thank you enough dude, just went from paying £30 a month for 450/900 mins/txts to £20 a month for 900/1800

no contract, no catch exactly what i needed, i tried about a month or two ago to see whether they could give me more mins and a reduced line rental without a new phone and no contract and they straight up refused

Got my sons line rental reduced from £15 month flext plan to £5 per month for 6 months thanks op.

The OP got a retention offer which may or may not be offered to other readers, based on their payments in the last few months. The more you spent in the last few months, the better the offer. So if you just woken up from a coma or been on a world cruise and left your phone at home, don't expect mighty offers.

Unfortunately this is why you see upset 5 year T-Mobile customers complaining when they see someone who has come up to their first renewal getting good retention offers. It's about your last three months.

The matrix a network uses to determine how valuable you are and therefore how hard they will try to keep you does change, so don't expect the 'last 3 months' rule to be around for the long term.

The computer determines how valuable you are so don't chain phone customer services forever if you're getting no where. You can not fight the machine :)

If you want market leading retention deals right now, you should be on O2. Can't tell you who has the best retention deals in 3 months time.

Agree, I rang up o2 to cancel my contract but they told me that because of the o2 loyalty cheme i would be entiled to £300 instant credit on my contract if i sign a new contract for 12months. paying £25 so its free for the next 12 months. was gonna leave even if they offered me a new phone for free to go on payg so this is great.

T MOBILE...EVERYONE BEWARE.
I just renewed my contract with T Mobile, got a great deal on a flex plan BUT then I realised that I was being charged for calls to my voicemail which was NOT IN THE ALLOWANCE!!!
I had confirmed a no voicemail charge when I renewed, they told me that EVERYONE was now being charged.
As I live in a dodgy reception area this means I get a lot of diverts to voicemail
Anyhow I called T Mobile who sorted it out after I suggested they may be breaking my contract!
