-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I emailed them about using the credit at the Google Play &/or PlayStation stores & this is what they had to say:

"I am not 100% sure but I would assume not as T-Mobile would want you to spend the credit on calls, texts etc"

And also about the credit expiration:

"The credit does not expire - you need to make at least one chargeable call every 90 days to keep the SIM and credit live"

Hopefully your card will keep that balance too for more than a the short-term. I have a t-mobile £5 free PAYG sim inside my old phone - I keep that phone in the car for emergencies/take it with me if going 'out-on-the-bevvy' instead of taking my expensive real phone!

I telephone their balance enquiries at least once every 3 months to keep it active (I also dial into the number using my real phone free minutes at least once every 3 months). I've had the sim for about 2 years, have made real phone calls only very occasionally but it's balance is actually over £8 just now!!!! That is because twice so far, t-mobile have texted me to reply to their text to receive £5 bonus credit :)

In practice they haven't expired me after 180 days (and god knows why Victor Meldrew is continuing with this 30 days nonesense!)......probably because I telephone balance enquiries, use it to phone a taxi when drunk occasionally and telephone in to keep in active. As mentioned, my current balance is higher than the original £5 because of further freebies.

Does anyone know if the offer where you send a message to some number and get 1GB of data for 30 days is available on these? If so, I should really stock up for my 3G tablet... :)

Have you applied for the free 100GB for 2 months from EE?

I've bought a couple of these a few months back and not had any problem with the £5 credit expiring after a 30 days.

Their terms and conditions may have changed since then though.

Prompted by this thread, I just checked the balance on my 2 year old t-mobile sim which I've never topped-up ever (other than by further freebies) - the automated 150 woman tells me "your balance is eight pounds and twenty-five pence....."

On my # enquiry - "the last call charged to your account was on 23 august 2014 to XXXXX XXXXXX - you were charged 55p"

Probably but not until six months have passed.

From carphonewarehouse terms...
"
T-Mobile

To be eligible to upgrade you must have joined T-Mobile 6 months ago or 6 months must have passed since your last upgrade. Also, a chargeable event must have occurred on the number at any time.

You'd have to top up 10p to cover the cost of the text

You need to buy a £1 voucher so you end up with £6 credit.
Before you can top up £5 on PSN you will need to send a 10p text, so once it all goes through, you will have 90p left .... which you can spend on google play.
So effectively its 60% off anything on PSN.

The credit expires after 30 days IF you purchase a smart pack, the credit is not a smart pack just normal credit
