Yes, but there are occasions when this could be useful. E.g. we've just moved offices and BT have cocked up moving our phoneline (surprise, surprise) so we're stuck without broadband and are sharing a dongle in the meantime. This would be handy for us right now and seems a good enough price. I did say it wouldn't be useful to everyone but would be for some people!

Why does this device not allow for networking? It is a networking device - allows for internet connections to be shared on the same NETWORK.

Yes why "Oh Dear" ?? Was just looking for something like his for our office. Can't get fixed line broadband as we are in the sticks. We have one 'all in 12gb dongle as we don't really use the net too much. Only two of us in the office but in the morning when we both want to check e-mails this would be great. Only thing is would it work with a 'three' dongle?
H & R added. Ta.

Thanks :) Think it's locked to T-Mobile so best check coverage with them in your area before you decide to buy one.

Is this the same as the MyFi dongle that Three are offering? Can it be used for creating a wireless network from your mobile broadband dongle? As I work on a ship this would be great for allowing my iPod Touch to connect to internet. It doesn't make it clear how the other users connect to the dock.

Just seen them on that internet auction site. Littlewoods clearance outlet

£29.99 + FREE P&P.... NEW!

Still anyone got any idea if they can be unlocked. Assume they must be as some are selling on the same auction site as "unlocked" ??

I've seen them unlocked on fleabay, so must be possible.

anyone know what the limits are on the dongle?

ie what in GB allowance do you get for the price paid?

You misunderstand me.
However you buy any dongle (from any network) and set it up on one PC and then you can share it across other networked PCs using normal networking (even wireless). Which means that you can buy any dongle using any deal, not this pointless lump of plastic selling you something you already have with any other usb dongle.

Looks like its £20 for 3Gb

Works with any Huawei dongle once you visit this site..
http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/Huawei+D100,+D100T And spend a few minutes updating it's firmware :whistling:

So that's at least Vodafone covered :)

still considering getting this to finally switch off my BT landline and broadband connection

Can I ask, as the item can be unlocked.. can the dongle work with 3 network sim? (as they are offering 5GB for £15 a month)

They pulled the listing, probably too many people making absurd offers.

With your scenario the host computer will have the extra burden of the processing of the others users pc plus its own, and then it has to be powered on all the time. At least the dongle and router option will enable anyone to connect without hassle without multiple pcs having to be switched on

LOL. Really how much of a burden is it going to be? Only a problem if you are using Pentium IIIs I suspect.

Horses for courses.
I use the £15/1Gb vodaphone dongle that doesnt timeout after 1 month and for most that might be a better alternative to this deal if they need something for emergencies rather than paying £120 /year for the privellege of emergency internet access albeit with 3Gb/month usage allowance.

All I can say is that there is a good reason why this item is in stock clearance...

FYI Bargain Crazy is Littlewoods stock clearance outlet.

I can give you a good reason to buy this.

In some houses, the 3G Mobile Broadband signal can be pretty inconstant - for example in my friend's house I can only get 3G if sat on the left side of the sofa in the lounge, but I get HSPDA in the bedroom!

SO this allow you to place the dongle on a windowsill or where ever the 3G signal is strongest. I have a Tmobile dongle so might get one. Cheers. :)

Damn - OOS now. :(

Managed to get one from that naughty auction site. :)

Will use with my existing Tmobile dongle! :)
