£5 per month, sim only, 300 mins, 300 texts and unlimited internet. Total = £120 for 24 months.
£7 per month + £2.99 delivery, HTC Wildfire S, 300 mins, 300 texts, unlimted interent and free landline calls. Total = £170.99 for 24 months.
£8 per month + £2.99 delivery, Motorola Defy, 300 mins, 300 texts, unlimted interent and free landline calls. Total = £194.99 for 24 months.
T Mobile retentions deals (all better than GiffGaff)
Hi I am in the last 30 days of my contract so I phoned up to get a Pac code today.
I told them that my girlfriend could get me a Virgin mobile retentions deal of 600mins, lots of texts and internet for somewhere between £5 and £5.50 per month.
The deals they offered me were are above - all giff gaffers voted cold, so I thought if I move the prices to the top people will see them when they search and know there are better alternatives.
I have chosen the motorola defy because I like to use my phone as GPS to track jogs and bike rides and it is the more sturdy phone. I also dislike the screen resolution of the Wildfire S.
In 24 months time the Defy will be badly out of date, in fact it will be badly out of date in 12 months time. But you can sell one of these for £150 now, and then you have a useable 2 year contract for under £50. Or I can keep it for a 12-18 months wait until someone offers me a dual core phone for under £150, then sell this for £50.
T-mobile probably do a good deal on other phones. I phoned as yesterday I read on here that someone got a Samsung Omnia 7 for £7.50 per month. The woman today said she couldn't offer me a deal on that phone but that we could try others.
Anyway, which ever deal is for you, they are all cheaper than GiffGaff. I have never failed to get either a retentions deal or cashback deal for myself or friends and family that is as bad as giffgaff. It is the simplist route to £10 per month if you use less than 250 mins but it can always be beaten.

2. I've been on T-Mobile and in my area they were very very poor, to the extent they gave me a lump some of money as I wasn't receiving a good service.
3. I don't think T-Mobile so "truly unlimited" internet, they have a cap (but this can vary), whereas GiffGaff is.
I do agree that this deal is cheap though so may be good for some people. I'm just bitter from 18 months of poor service!

I will carry on dissing GiffGaff. As stated it is good if you can't be bothered to look for better. If you use more texts, you can swap the landline mins for unlimited texts.
Is the internet truely unlimited? I doubt it, but I have never had a problem in the last 18 months even when I have watched hours of youtube videos in a day.
Will the data speed be capped? they say not.
Do I want to be tied to the same contract for 24 months? Yes I do, changing networks is a pain. They have the best reception in my house, work and the places I visit. However should this change my mind I could sell the phone for £100 in 12 months time and be happy knowing that I have spent only £96 for the first years, and write off the second year as a wasted year. Oh and I still would have paid less than Giff Gaff and received more.
Are all GiffGaffers stupid? I doubt it, but this deal is £2 less per month, very similar minutes, texts and internet, yet you get a free phone that in the last week has sold for £160-£240 on ebay. You could sell it now and make £150, then you would have paid less than £50 for 24 months of sim free contract. Not the £240 it costs on GiffGaff.

If you refer people to T-mobile contracts they will pay out between £50 and £250 per contract. Its more than £5.

I'm a giffgaffer and wouldn't class myself as stupid, I agreed that for some people it would be a good deal (below).

I think where you went wrong was when you stated (all better than giffgaff) in the title. I for one would disagree with that comment as would 99.9% of all giffgaffers.
The problem you've got is people are now comparing this to giffgaff without taking it on its own merits. Us giffagffers are very protective over our very cheap and very good network, so I politely ask you to BACK OFF :D!

Voted HOT and you possibly cannot get any decent deal from GG without spending £10 a month.
One warning is if you try to pay off the contract early they charge you the original rate for the remaining months. I got my sis a TMob 7.50 sim but coverage in her house is poor so I tried to pay off the last 5 months and port her to gg. TMob wanted 5x15 rather than 5x7.50 as the tariff is discounted.Cheeky monkeys!

My approach is to pay something upfront for the phone, and even be prepared to buy something SIM-free at full price, in order to get the lowest overall, and hopefully lowest monthly cost too. "Free" phones are merely bought on credit, with the cost+interest being added onto the monthly payment.
