Seems like a good deal on this smart thermostat which rates well against Nest and Hive. Only been cheaper than this on one occasion according to Camelcamelcamel. This is the v2 rather than v3, but according to Tado's website the only difference is that it comes with an older hub which has no pairing button and is not Apple Homekit compatible. Not a problem if you're an Echo/Smart things user like me though.

If you have a combi then this is a good system.
If you need to control your water then the extension system costs another £79 making it more expensive than the Hive or nest system.

Good point, I had missed that. Does anyone know if it's possible to use this in combination with a standard timer for just the hot water? i.e. Connect the relay for the heating into the Tado, whilst leaving the hot water relay connected to the conventional timer?

I would love to buy tado's radiator control kits to work with my nest and SmartThings. But sadly they are just overpriced.

got this. great bit of kit. works off your geo on your phone so turns heating on and off as you move closer or away from home.
I also use Alexa to turn heating up.
very easy to fit . the aftercare us second to none. based in Germany and very helpful .

Very tempting... still havent been able to decide on this, Hive, or Evohome...

Got this last year. Ironically our costs went up slightly, but only due to us living in an ice block the previous winter and turning the heating for about 1 hour a day!

Ive got this system had it since Jan the support is superb both phone and email. Ive got this running my heating whilst my hot water is still controlled by the existing timer.
