+the £50 gift card

£20 profit is the change from the gift card after you've paid 6 months premiums at £5 a month.

I think a better deal if you want to go along the lines of cancelling something after your "reward" is £50 cashback from Quidco for a More Than policy starting at £6 a month. Pays out after 3 months premiums have ben paid (£18) so profit is £32. Which can be spent anywhere.

Great deal. From the sound of it more than one person from the same address can take the offer out too

NOt really £20 profit either if you are limited to using it at Tesco

Both of these ideas suppose you actually get paid out when they say. If you do not but stop the payments, then you will not get your reward. You could end up with a loss, though having had the benefit of life cover.

I've just looked at their numbers and their quote for £500,000 for me is 2.25 times what I pay.

for the minimum £5 over the minimum 5 years (longer reduces the benefit), I would get 32k of cover. Appalling figures. I might go ahead just to rob them and get the voucher as they are obviously thieving ******s.

OR, take out £75,000 life cover on the missus, maybe £5 pm depending on age. Bump her off after 2 months. So £75,000 profit + £50 Tesco voucher (could spend it on nibbles for the wake !) all for an investment of a tenner. Cushty :w00t:

Classic. Might try this out. Heat added

Several hundred of us who had to chase Tesco for the £50 gift card which was advertised as coming with a HD TV last year.

In the end most of us had to settle for £50 off a Tesco.com internet shop instead - and that was after many, many phone calls to Tesco.

I am not saying it will happen here, but I now pass on any £50 incentives like this from Tesco. Too much hassle !!!

They say 6 weeks to get the card....it might be more like 6 months and lots of buck passing.
#12
do you get the gift card no matter what level of cover you take?

So £6 a month for 20 years pays £60,000 if I drop dead.

Not bad really (apart from being dead) - do you get anything should you live the whole 20 years?

Maybe a small cash payment, or a certificate for still being alive etc?

No - just the the remains of what's left of your gift card if you still have it after 20 years!

they said that about the jet wash but i never heard anything and i cancelled after 1 month ;-)

They can request all they want, it doesn't mean people will pay

The monthly premiums are quite high, for the same policy I have just taken using canvendish online (as recommended by MSE), Tesco quote is £6 per month more than the cavendish quote (using Prudential).

If you wanna try and use it to get the £50 card and cancel, fair enough, but if your looking for an actual policy for cover long term, i'd recommend getting some more quotes as I'm sure you'll find cheaper policies.
#23
Very poor return for the hassle - why don't you go around looking for dropped change on the street as well!

Besides, if you cancel, they ask for the gift card back

COLD

PS - you bag alot more profit with the over 50's schemes ;-)

WITHIN: The OP does state to cancel after 6 month, therefore they wouldn't be asking for the gift card back.

Sadly some people value it very little.

So you spend £30.00 to make £20.00 profit? Why don't you just not join and keep your £30.00? Which is £10.00 more than £20.00 isn't it
#27
You'll also have to remember to cancel the policy.

I'd taken out car insurance with Tesco that gave fuel vouchers before with no problem.

Be an insurance "tart"! Take out the Tesco policy, cancel after 6 months then take out another to get cashback from quidco and so on!!!

What hassle would that be? 2 minutes online and a note in your diary for in 6 months when you need to cancel

dont get what you are saying, its, spend £30 get back £50 so if you shop at tesco you make £20 for a few minutes work and cancel after 6 months.

I don't have any cover at the moment, so I got a quote:

£85.82 per month.

Yowser.

OK deal, but applying for insurances etc all the time will eventually catch up on you and if one day you genuinely want life insurance, you may not be able to get it because of the history of buying and cancelling insurance.

Feel a bit of a killjoy now I have just posted this!
