I was on Quidco and I was looking at the savy tips on the left hand side and it said that Lovefilm had increased cashback to £17.

Went in for a closer look and this what it said.

"To receive your cashback you must be signing up for your first no-obligation free trial. In order to qualify for your Quidco cashback, you must add at least ten discs in your rental list and receive at least 1 DVD rental by post."

Already been a member? Different card + different name = win :D

(This is my first thread, be nice :( )

Yeah, but they make it difficult to cancel, forcing you to ring up some indian call centre and get some cheeky ******s repeatedly point out how you havent "fully utilised the service yet", trying to make you feel guilty...

Still, if it means robbing them of some money, I'm in, they provide a less than average service and deserve it.

or just cancel online which is what I have done the 5 or 6 times I have used them! :whistling:

It's really really easy to cancel by phone! You clearly haven't been through the process. Dunno whether its always been this way, but its easy to cancel without any hassle. They might ask you why you are cancelling, but thats it.
#4
Looks good. :) heat and rep for you and i'll do some reading

another alternative is to go for lovefilm trial via pctools.com website...you get a year's free antispyware subcription...?

http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/uninstall/

£17 is more then $30 :P and you can spend the cash on something that you actually need/want.
#7
Seams like an excellent deal. I have just signed up...
#8
Well maybe it's changed since I did it, but thats how it was for me, twice, about a year ago.

i thought it is £30 on the uk website...may be i have sent the wrong link.

I did this a few months ago, cashback has been validated but not paid to quidco yet so you may be waiting a while to receive it.

Was easy for me to cancel too.
#11
Plz bear in mind that the cashback is only for their 14 day trial. Back when I joined lovefilm the cashback was £15 but I entered the 3 month free trial offer code and Quidco never tracked and gave £15.

good if it works

Cancel after 10pm and you can do it online!

Cancelled mine last time around 12pm online and no need to call Lovefilm.
Been that way the last 2 times I've done it...:whistling:

Previously you havent got Quidco without paying at least one months subscription after the free trial ends. If this is no longer the case I'd be surprised but delighted.
#15
Only problem is the tracking, I have had to get them to manually track it. Plus i got the 3 months free :)
#16
Do you need to sign up for an unlimited plan to have it work, or can you pick one of the "light use" ones as well? Not sure if that interferes with the "you need to queue up 10 movies" when those light use ones have a limit on the amount of movies.

maths fail.

I only signed up to Lovefilm on Monday using this 90-day trial code: XDMHCNEXQ . Valid until the end of May. Maybe someone could try visiting Quidco to get the £17, then switch the codes on the Lovefilm registration page to get the 90-day trial too :-D

Must admit I'm liking Lovefilm a lot. Already had my first 3 DVD's in the post. Movie night tonight!

Signed up with another email addy, thanks.

I don't understand how LoveFilm make any money! They gave away so many free trials and cashback... personally I think its a great service, I'm on their bottom package (after a few free trials) which gives me 2 per month for just under £4 and suits my needs perfectly. ... But they post the discs to you and pay for the return postage... I'd love to see their business model!! I suppose the key thing is that you never really know what you are getting as you just keep a long list of what you'd like to, i guess this lets them get away with keeping stocks of eachparticular title quite low...
#21
there cashback is a bit random, but u gotta be init to win it
#22
I think Lovefilm give an excellent service.
I've had no problems cancelling free trials.

I've never tried this, but I'm really tempted.

I've got a few questions, so thank you to anyone who answers them
When do I cancel my free trial? After the 14 days or right away?
What's a "rental list"?
How do I return the disc after getting it through the mail? Do i pay for postage?
#26
Hot deal (I hope), I've given it a go.

Like LittleRedGaurd said, if I were to cancel the free trial, when do I do this? A couple of days before the free trial is due to end?

lol well said
but right now $30 = £20 @ 1.5 fx rate... the rate has to be above 1.764 for $30 to be more than £17... +quidco is not a guarantee (like hukd mods posters would say)...
#28
In fact I bet I have messed it up... There was already a free trial code when I signed up for the free trial, will that mess up the Quidco tracking?

you can cancel online. you need to have returned all discs to be able to cancel. hence make sure the discs are returned on the 11day at latest i would suggest and then cancel on the 13th day.

you get free mail envelopes to return the discs by first class post.

the rental list is ur list of dvd/games/bluray that u want to watch play...lovefilm will pick whichever film it has from that list and send to you

Yes

Great... is there anyway to fix this?

READ CAREFULLY WHAT QUIDCO SAYS:

"To receive your cashback you must be signing up for your first no-obligation free trial. In order to qualify for your Quidco cashback, you must add at least ten discs in your rental list and receive at least 1 DVD rental by post.

If you use a promotional code in conjunction with this link you may not receive your Quidco cashback."

The promotional code was already in the box after I clicked the link from Quidco...

In fact I believe its fine, it must be the Quidco referral code. I'll keep checking Quidco to see if it appears.

The same thing happened to me, there was already a code when I click on "14 day free trial" on the top right corner.
