Talkmobile 6 Month Sim Only - 300 Mins / 1000 Texts / 500MB Data - £8.00pm

£8.00 @ Talk Mobile
Only £8 pm for a good all round tariff. This is a good deal imo for people who think being tied in for 12 months on these sim only deals is too long. Talkmobile carry the Vodafone network.

#3
Don't be tempted by their cheap price, beware of thier poor service, if there is any!!!
#4
Can you use Vodafone Sure Signal with Talk Mobile?
#5
not sure about their service but the price is good.
#6
im voting cold because i just got similar sim from them , and the day i got the sim i phoned customer services and they were so rude to the point they put the phone down on me.
so i cut the sim up and deleted the direct debit........avoid at all costs

No problems here other than that I couldn't keep my number which made me pretty mad - you have to provide the PAC at time of order - after is too late.

Seems a good price but after my Tesco 12 month iPhone 4 contract runs out this month, I'm just going to stay on a rolling contract with them. I can't fault Tesco Mobile tbf, good prices and good data and minute allowances
#9
Great price and just what I needed after cancelling my iPhone contract today.

Have taken out the 1 month Sim deal though so I can see what the service is like and wait for my PAC code to come from Vodafone.
#10
Since they are using the Vodafone network, would that mean that I would still be able to use a Sure Signal box? I doubt it, right?

Looks like an excellent deal. Could have been a one off with the rude CS rep plus it's never that often that you have to ring them anyway. Although I admit it does get under your skin when somebody from a company you're giving your hard earned cash to is rude to you.

I began on sim only in 2006 with Virgin Mobile who were the first network to do it. Back then I got 200 mins + 500 texts with no data on a 30 day contract for a "special" price of £15pm as the full price should have been £20. It was actually a good deal for that time. How times have changed since though!

HOT.

I stayed with Tesco after my 12 months ran out and managed to get 500 mins, unlimited texts and data for £10 a month

does voicemail come out of your bundle allowance
how long to transfer existing number across
is it free to call customer service from your phone,
are you able to check you remaining mins and text , by sending a text msg, like you can on O2
do they allow the call waiting feature

Is that rolling? That's a cracking deal. I'm going to haggle on the phone for the best price. How much data do you get? Still 1gb?
#15
"The "Unlimited" UK Texts offer is subject to a fair use policy of 3000 texts per monthly bill cycle".

Any company that has a LIMIT on UNLIMITED plans, i.e. misleading people is not worth a penny.

Virgin Mobile do the same deal once you finish any contract with them. 500 mins, 3000 texts, 1GB data for £10/month 30-day rolling.

It's a rolling contract, they tried to offer me 500mb of data but I managed to get 1gb out of them but when I look at my account online the data shows as unlimited. I've only been on the plan a couple of months and I've not used more than a 1gb of data a month yet so not too sure about the unlimited bit

No Sure Signal as per the recent Sure Signal thread.

You get what you pay for...i know one person with talk mobile and he is always hanging out of the window for service wherever we go

iv got talk mobile sim with £10 init for sale got about 5

I've recently joined TalkMobile and the signal coverage has been excellent, far better than Orange in the village where I live and work, even after Orange merged with T-Mobile earlier this year to increase coverage.
#22
I am having Talkmobile. Actually It depends on whom you are talking to in the customer service.
First time, I spoke to a lady who is very rude as you mentioned. After some time I called again and a gentle men picked up the call and he is very helpfull.

But I think ppl should not be rude, that too being in customer service :(
#23
Great deal for a 6 month sim but for a 12 month sim there are much better deals via tesco and yearly t-mobile deals. There are also some good £12 per month 24 month contracts that offer the same minutes ect here but you also get a free phone.

A workmate had a similar experience last week, and he was just chasing the delivery on his new order. The fool still continued with the purchase though. I'd have told them to keep the phone and cancelled the order...

If this is the phone company run by the Carphone Warehouse, then be warned, they are terrible. Incredibly rude as others have said, and dodgy charges on bills. It's worth paying a bit more to go with another company imo.

Can one port from Voda?

Have been with these guys for the last 2months. Recently moved house and coverage is pants. Unfortunately tied with 24months contract.

Any ideas how I can get out of this service? I can pay the phone price and get out of the contract only if they did not quote double the market price.

Is the coverage that bad? I thought it was just the same as Vodafone, who cover 99.7% of the UK.

Avoid this company like the plague. After 2 months, 15+ phone calls, a bill for £411 and having my name sent to a debt collection agency and all for a contract that I don't have and a phone I never received. Please beware!!!

Thanks for the warning. Haven't seen anyone post a positive review for talk mobile yet, think I might cancel my galaxy s order that I'm still waiting for...

By doing so, you would be doing yourself a favour. I went confidently by the Vodafone signal reason. I rarely use 3G and when I did, it never performed. Was trying to get directions using maps outside the London Liverpool station and could not use at all. Also a terrible company to deal with. I regret now for porting my number and for my patience with this provider in the intial 30days.

Customer services free and voicemail 10p but not sure if that comes out of your minutes or if you can check your remaining allowance.
