12 month sim only contract £3.75 p.m.
300 mins, 600mb data, unlimited texts.
Quidco cashback is £20
total for year £45 (12×3.75) - £20 = £25 p.a.
(Used quidco and had email confirming this tracked a few mins later)
OR if you use TCB £31.50 = £13.50 p.a.
Checked to make sure sure not already posted - couldn't see it was!
Believe they use Vodafone 3g network (not 4G one unfortunately) appreciate this isn't as good as previous TCB deal which seemed to make a profit!
This is for existing talk talk customers only (TV or phone or broadband)

Not a deal. Beside this & the 500 min package have been posted plenty of yes in December when TCB was £63/£66

Price is £45 (Quidco and TCB are not guaranteed so should not be included in the headline price).

Talktalk use the Vodafone network

It's a reasonably good deal for a low user but be careful of going over those limits (especially data) - experience tells me that Talktalk will send you a text 12-24 hours AFTER you've exceeded the limit (by which time you can have run up a very large data bill - my son managed over £70), despite their adverts claiming to send you a text when you are near the limit.

you should be able to cap your data usage on your handset, which will also warn you when you're close.

Seemed pretty good to me for just over a £ a month on average, even with my low usage on 3 i still do a fiver a month! Aware of December deals as referenced in post but these are currently not live hence posting next best deal.

yes but be sure to do them as separate transactions if doing via quidco or tcb as i they only normally pay for one transaction if done together

sorry should've checked faq rather than googling - its vodaphone! Think they previously used ee. As tapi says above they are switching to o2 which potentially means they will also use their 4g network if you search it http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2014/11/uk-isp-talktalk-prep-switch-mobile-operators-vodafone-o2.html

edited header to incorporate cashback separately & changed to Vodafone - thanks. Good point about cost after allowance, i've been stung by orange for this before as well!

You can take out a maximum 3 sim only deals. And maximum 2 phone contracts

I have one of these SIM only deals at present. Now I'm wondering if TT change network from Vodafone to o2 what will happen to me as my handset (iPhone) is locked to Vodafone and I believe its costly to unlock.

Thanks,

Thanks,

It will be 'locked' again, I'm in the same boat here. The only reason it works is because it is on VF network but as soon as they migrate, you will be stuck. It costs £20 from VF to unlock and they are quite tardy so you should put it on your to-do list so it doesn't catch you by surprise. I don't know when the switch is happening, but the deal is signed so it is most certainly already in the works.

Is that correct? I have four sim only deals with them at the moment.

So maybe they have changed t&c's since I got mine

TT must have lots of customers in a similar position, do you suppose they will have any contingency plans to cover this scenario? (Concessionary unlocking).

My phone came from my son, he was at the end of his contract with VF and upgraded to the latest iPhone. Its mean on the part of VF to charge considering they already had their money's worth during the lifetime of the original contract.

Regards.

I think that to register them all under 'family' for the Family Calls rate then the max is 2 mobiles and Sims and 3 separate Sims. Think that's to stop one person buying loads for a large group as 'family' and all getting free calls.

Talk Talk is crap as I am experienced since a year, Have 3 sims, if you go over punish like mad, £42 in 24 hour for my son going over 20mb.
Avoid if you are not careful on what is being used as no capping.

It is possible to set a cap - but they cut off the phone completely if you go over it (incoming calls & texts only until you call and pay them). If you have multiple mobiles they cut them all off if one goes over. It seems designed to discourage you from setting a cap.

I think setting a cap for data usage is wise but the other way of managing it is setting the data warning on your phone to 600mb (or whatever cap is) - most phones have this in the wireless and networks option (in Android it does, anyway) - there should be an option called data usage that allows you to set either a data cut off (switches off mobile data only) or a warning when it gets to say 550mb of data used. Not sure these are 100% reliable but i never had a problem when i was on one before. Most networks are fiends for £ per MB when you go over data allowance unfortunately - I did switch to 3's 3-2-1 payg tariff which was great, only 1p per MB - plus each time you top up £5 you get 150MB free data. This can be doubled up so if you wanted to top up £10 do 2 separate £5 top ups and you get 300mb data! I'm keeping that SIM for use abroad though :)

Yes, very tempting especially with the cashback but anyone considering taking advantage of this deal should read the terms and conditions carefully.
A few of the main points that affected me were:
You only qualify if you are a TT customer, and remain a TT customer
If you move your fixed line services to another provider the discount is removed
I was told I can port my Talkmobile number to TalkTalk Mobile by two operators yet it would not allow me to do this when I tried. (I was under the impression they are both part of the same group, but told otherwise by the same 2 operators) its fine; my telephone calls are recorded too :-)
When I lost my TalkMobile phone they charged me £15 for a replacement SIM- shocking
I'll be interested to see how good their cooling off period is when I call them tomorrow
Hope this helps someone

Thanks,

If you look over on talktalks community forum a talk talk rep has said they will be unlocking all mobiles that are locked to the Vodafone network as part of the move to 02.

Probably worth checking respective cashback provider or talk talk t and cs in a bit of depth to make sure they don't have a clause in there. The initial deal is 12mths then the price goes up. They might also be a bit funny about porting existing number as usually this is to get market share from other providers

the tariffs are different now and tcb is paying £60.60
any chance I would make some profits by going for the £3.75 a month?
