I've just switched as Talk Talk are the only people to have unbundled the local exchange. They do, however, throttle p2p and newsgroups, so dependent on how bad the restrictions are I might cancel within the 30 cancelation period.

If anyone is on talk talk and uses newsgroups, how do you find the service?

I'm on regular talktalk, though I only use bittorrent not newsgroups.

I thought I had a fair usage limit of 30GB, but I almost always use ~70GB/month. (Thanks to EA I've used almost 200GB this month!)

Not had any letters from them, and never noticed capping during off peak periods. Though they definitely shape/cap traffic during peak times.

Been with them a long time and want out really badly. I'd advise you to avoid them at all costs, we have had terrible internet for the last month and they still havn't sorted it. Even when it's working our maximum d/l speed is 700kbps.

700kbps doesnt sound unreasonable for adsl depending on your distance from the exchange?

Id love to get a dl speed of 700kbps lol. Mines is currently downloading at 320kbps.

never mind Talk Talk, hang up broadband is cheaper

Worst company, poor customer service, speeds are rubbish, download limits, throttle p2p programs(uTorrent) would never go to sign contract with them. Cold for me!

bunch of knobs - i phoned for this during the week and was told it would be a £30 connection fee and i would have to pay full price as i wasnt 'switching' providers but taking a new line!

Recently I joint with Sky Broadband and I am getting 1900kbps to 2000kbps I am so glad I let go of Virgin after 10 years of loyalty!X) when I checked with Sky online tool it showed I would be getting 1700kbps but getting more! They did full instalation of line for just a tenner as I did not have BT line. I already downloaded about 30gb in five days! :p
