Lloydspharmacy has become the first major retailer to sell the swine flu drug Tamiflu online.

From today it will be possible to buy Tamiflu via its online doctor service http://www.lloydspharmacy.com.

Packs of ten will sell at £48.50, which is less than half the price of some other online sources, it said.

Lloydspharmacy governance and pharmacy relations director Andy Murdock said: We have decided to become the first recognised healthcare brand to sell Tamiflu online in advance of need so that people who want to buy the treatment can get it from a reputable online source.

Murdock added that information would be sent out with the drugs from doctors explaining swine flu symptoms and under what circumstances they should start taking it.

Hi
Thanks for posting. And welcome to HUKD.
It is good practice to also add a link to the product. Emmajk42 wrote a couple of very comprehensive and excellent guide for newcomers to HUKD here: - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/145906/newcomers-advice-on-hotukdeals-gene/

They are well worth taking a look at.
Kind regards Andy

the whole swine flu dilema is a joke...if your healthy then its gonna feel like the sniffles...been there done it and to pay nearly $50 for a 10 day dose(5 days dose if you have the flu) is idiotic .it only protects you for 10 days..and it isnt even 100% effective..it just keeps the symptoms to a minimum...yet again the HEALTHY people in britain arwe conned by the government officials who all have major shres in the tamiflu making chemical company. So if your healthy..dont waste your money..if your a junkie with medical problems..then your doc will supply you with enough tamiflu and methadone to keep the county healthy...voted freezing.

*coughing* at the price not coz I have the pig flu...
#4
The side effects from Tamiflu are often worse than the swine flu itself.
#5
Ha, thats just a ridiculous price!!
#6
why not get it free from your gp?
#7
mamamia..is your avatar baby asking for 1 pack..lol

Can I just point out that Tamiflu is completely useless for most people. If you have flu symptoms and do not suffer from any pre existing health problems then just stay home and take paracetamol to help control your temperature and make sure you drink lots. Only if you still have a high temperature (over 101f) after 3 days should you seek medical attention.

Tamiflu is the medias answer but unless you are a kid, a pensioner or have other serious helth problems; Tamilfu will be no more helpful than normal flu relief remedies from over the counter ad will certainly not help you beat the bug any faster.

Think it's for people who want to stock up in case they get it, not for those who have already got it.

unless you are definitely ill and have strong flu (not just a 'sniff') symptoms (and then you will be prescribed it anyway) i wouldn't recommend taking tamiflu without some form of medical advice .. tamiflu has really bad side-effects - this is not just from today's papers but from people who i know have had suspected swine flu.. i.e. be extremely careful about tamiflu since it is well known before even this swine flu saga that tamiflu can have pretty nasty side-effects

instances where i recommend you might buy tamiflu without prescription is if you are travelling in countries with high population and poor health service.. and again your doctor would often prescribe you a private prescription for tamiflu.
#15
People should not stock up on tamiflu, it should only be used if you need it and is not a self medication med. Lloyds are being irresponsible and just seeking to make money out of this situation
#16
PS - Can we please get this down to minus 600!??
#17
So cold its got icicles on it!! Disgrace that a company like that would try and capitalise on the vulnerable - i.e. the stoopid who dont realise its FREE!!!

I hope you are not advocating lying to the NHS in order to steal expensive and restricted drugs which may be needed in great numbers at some point in the future in order to serve your own greed and neurosis.

You can get Tamiflu for free from the NHS; IF you have flu, its not a drug to buy like Lemsip for a just in case scenario.

I was in the USA when swine flu first erupted and people were waiting in line for hours at wallgreens for this stuff. Fights breaking out and allsorts, numpties :-D
#20

You do wonder how many people are hitting the NHS direct site with a copy of their local register of electors, a cribsheet of symptoms and an open eBay window :)

Now at minus 818 and falling faster............ Rightfully!

Interesting find but very irresponsible of Lloyd's to have done this.
Just trying to make a quick buck off of the scared and confused - Sorry mate, voted COLD.

This is the sort of stupid offer that encourages those who don't have genuine symptoms to take this. people then build up a resistance to Tamiflu and the virus (which may happen anyway) mutates.
Great voted freezing.

That's an interesting qualification.

you cant get swine flu from another person and tamiflu does not work with swine flu or bird flu , because they are the same flus .

Stupidly cold deal.

If you need it then a prescription costs £7.20. If you don't need it, why would you buy it?
