Did you know a white Englishman called Dave Godin was supposedly the first person to join Tamla with Motown together?

He deffinitely coined the tag Northern Soul

RIP Dave

If you want to hear what Dave Godin (one of the uk's biggest ever soul fans) is about check out , these are stupidly good soul compilations.

Talking of soul compilations, Ady Croasdell, DJ and Collector has released some great compilations on the Kent label. Melba Moore's fantastic unreleased 'The Magic Touch" is a
outstanding track. amd a great 5 am in the morning floor filler!

I would like to track down an album my older brother had years ago.
It was called platinum something or something Platinum?

One track it had on was "the Bottle"

Lyrics went like this....
See that black boy over there, runnin' scared
his ol' man's in a bottle.
He done quit his 9 to 5 to drink full time
so now he's livin' in the bottle.
See that Black boy over there, runnin' scared
his ol' man got a problem
Pawned off damn near everything, his ol'
woman's weddin' ring for a bottle.
And don't you think it's a crime
when time after time, people in the bottle.

Any ideas appreciated.

Just remembered its called ITS ALL PLATINUM

I think " the bottle " is on Gill Scott Heron`s " the revolution will not be televised "lp , there was a 12" release if you still play vinyl
