Sounds like a great deal but doesn't say what mount it is.
#2
Unless I am being really dim I can't actually see which camera this is for.
#3
is this a good lens? is it compatible with a pentax k-x? thanks for the info!!
#4
Anyone see what mount it is yet?
#5
If Tamrons info is correct it's available for most mounts but that doesn't say on PC Worlds site which it is.
#6
Does auto focus work with Nikon D40?

Good price!
#7
Last time this was posted it was a Canon mount on this.
#8
The website says;
Compatability:
AF-D, Canon AF, Konica Minolta AF-D, Pentax AF, Nikon with Built-In Motor, Pentax, Sony
#9
Currys were doing the exact same lens and again did not mention the camera it is for. Turned out to be Canon.

Yeah but I think it's cos it is available for those mounts. If I had to guess I would say its Canon mount as the Accessories tab shows Canon stuff. Shame cos I would have ordered this straight away if it would fit my Sony Alpha.

Based on the first line "With a 35mm equivalent range of 140-600mm, the Tamron AF 70-300mm" I'd suggest it was for an Olympus 4/3 camera as they generally have a 2x sensor crop (Canon and Nikon would be a 1.6x crop).

I was thinking it wasn't APS-C.
#15
Well I have ordered one and will just see if it fits, if not - back to PCWorld it goes!

Nope, and with Currys/PC World the different mounts would all have a different product code. It could be one of them, or none of them.
#17
I'd still go with Canon. I agree the figures seem weird though. My Sony is a 1.5x crop. If I had a Canon I would take the chance and return it but I am sure it's not gonna fit my Alpha.
#18
Thanks. So AF does not work with Nikon D40 (body does not have the built in motor).
#19
Plz be for a Sony Alpha..will snap it right up..great deal which ever camera it fits.
#20
99% sure this is for a Canon.
#21

I've got one of these. I'd rate it a firm 7/10 overall. Relative to a Canon 18-55 stock lens, it's noisier and I think it's slower at focusing, and it doesn't seem to take too well to excessive light tending to bleed bright sections together and it seems to lack contrast and vibrance, especially compared to my 50mm Mk2, but being able to shoot at 300mm is absolutely cracking. And the Macro function is a lot of fun.

I paid slightly less for mine, but bought it second-hand. £55 isn't a lot of cash, and I'd recommend this without fail.

You are one of the lucky ones then...

I've had my confirmation email through too. If this turns out NOT to fit my Nikon, I will offer it here to anyone that didn't manage to get one before I take it back.

Only fair to share the love!
