Not bad but the same price in Tesco for the 320 gig 2.5" IOmega model and you get double clubcard points.

I take it that's instore only if you can find one because the cheapest online is £47.97

Where is the tescos offer, instore?
I only see the 250gb iomega one for £43 which comes close.

I think the iomega requires 2 usb connections

Well, you've got to take your £1 beanie hats off to them, its a good deal... (actually that was for Very customers who missed out!)

Excellent post, simate, thanks.

Does anybody know whether or not this is store-specific? It's not appearing as a 'Hi Tec Special Offer from 18.02.10' on the website when my local stores are selected.

Thanks for checking, mugglesquop, very much appreciated. Doesn't look like it's available in my local (Leeds area), so will look further afield!

No reason why it shouldn't. I have a really old 2.5" drive in an aftermarket case on my daughter Wii which works just fine. Formatted it with WBFS Manager, transfer the games with it too cos ya have to lol, it's awesome, compresses the hell out of most games so you can get no end on a 60gb drive let alone 320gb!
#29
Any idea what the drive is in this?
Ebuyer do the http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136790 and thinking that altho this is cheap it may be easier to buy a bare drive and caddy for a few quid more?
#30
looks good will have to get one
#31
If the warranty is anything like WD's then its poitnless as it will not cover any data recovery even if the drive fails because of a mechanical fault. You will still have to pay to get your data back! Still a good deal none the less.
#32
you can get a 500gb medion/seagate in aldi for £59.99
banned#33
ok ok so is anyone gonna comment on whether these are reliable or are they like the iomega unreliable drives??
#34
haha i am also a rejected Additions buyer than thought he had a steal. This isn't great in my opinion, i got 500gb external HD for the same price from Comet, Iomega, and i am very pleased with it. (not as small and 'portable' as this however!)

No reason whatsoever why it shouldn't be. Infact it would make a lovely like Time Machine storage box! :-)

aye, but the smallness and portableness and the fact that its usb powerdness is what makes these 2 and a half inch drives expensive.

in the world of 2 and a half inch drives, this is quite cheap

No drive warranty will cover that - so as pointless as any other warranty then is it?
If someone is daft enough to have their only copy of important data on one drive then they have only themselves to blame when they lose it. Cheap drive, hot deal.
