#12
great price :)

Good price but mine sits in the bottom of a cupboard along with all the other gadgets that we never use.

This doesn't seem a bad price compaired to how much they used to be, but the price of the 'pods' seem quite expensive.

I dare say that you can get the pods for a reasonable price if you shop around, but as there are loads of nice ground coffees etc to stick in a caffetier, and instants (if those are your thing), it makes me wonder if ever id' use this, or if it would just sit in a cupboard as a novelty item.....

Hmm... I'd go for a filter coffee machine every time, just so that you can choose whichever coffee you want to use... if it has a mesh filter, you don't have to buy filter papers. I got a good Braun one from amazon for £20 and it's been great for the past year.

one of my friends worked on the market research for these pod machines about 7 years ago before they were everywhere - I told her nobody would ever buy them but it seems I was wrong - the challenge they had was getting people to buy something which would tie them to one brand of 'coffee pod'... it's in the coffee pods that they make all the profit... like with printers and ink cartridges...
if you had a printer which could take any ink cartridge (which doesn't exist), why would you pay more to replace it with one which could only take a particular type of ink cartridge (i.e. the way printer manufacturers do actually make their money)?

I was didn't know whether to buy the Tassimo or the Senseo machines. After extensive research I opted for the Tassimo. More expensive but seemed to make better coffee...... until I actually bought one. Coffee wasn't great and also it leaked water from the bottom. Took it back and got another one. That leaked too and it kept bursting the coffee pods so you had bits of coffee in your drink. Took that one back and got a refund and bought the Senseo. Much better tasting coffee, better quality drink, and the coffee pads are cheaper and the unit is half the price of the Tassimo.
You can also get a 'Coffee Duck' which sits in your Senseo and you can put your own coffee in it. Not only is this cheaper but you can also put as much or as less coffee in as you like, depending on how strong you want it.

Hope this helps any decisions.........

Good price if you want one, but;
a) pods are a rip off
b) I (like most people!) probably wouldnt use it after the first few weeks!

The best product in this genre for some time IMHO is that kettle that boils in like 4 seconds?!?! Now thats useful for a quick brew and saves loads of leccy!

Cheers for the heads-up though. Could be a good pressie for someone I guess.

Those things do not boil water though - they give hot water, but not boiling. There were loads of complaints from people when they bought these as the water is not hot enough to make tea.

I never knew that Krups was Nescafe, I've go a nice little Gaggia myself and I can't fault it, grind some beans and away you go.

In our local it is the Braun one that is on offer.
The Bosch one is still £99, sorry.
#27
Thanks - It looks the business.....£7.49.

These Tassimo drinks don't taste too great. Nespresso machines are much better for coffee from pods.
