I hate how out of date their stores are! I was looking for a coffee machine today, and had £50 vouchers to spend. I saw these prices online last night and didn't think to reserve it for some reason. It was £120 in store and I didn't have any proof on me :(

Ah well, I'll reserve it tonight and pick it up Friday with a big F.U. ready for them.

They've had an offer on these at Currys Luton last week (might be nation wide but not sure). The machine was £60 and you get £10 worth of PODs for free with it so effectively the machine is £50. Might be worth checking your local Currys before you buy.

Typical, bought one from my Mother for Xmas from Amazon for £70 over the weekend & they're also £67.49

Do Amazon still refund the difference, as its not yet been delivered?

If anyone is considering buying this without fully knowing about the product, I'll just post my thoughts based on having had it for a few months.

It's a great, great machine for making a huge variety of coffees and other drinks like tea/hot chocolate, but two warnings:

1) It can be loud. It heats the water you put in the tank on-the-fly, so it uses some sort of mechanism to instantly heat the water as it comes out through the machine. And it's noisy as a result.

2) The machine uses Tassimo-specific pods of coffee/tea/hot chocolate that you need to buy (they are like larger versions of those small milk/cream capsules you get on e.g. plane flights). This means you are limited to whatever selection the Tassimo pods are available in. E.g. if you like Tetley tea, you can't make it with this, you have to use whatever company makes Tassimo tea pods. You then insert these pods into the machine which then runs the hot water through it, thereby mixing the ingredient with the water (and because it's only the end part where the pod is inserted, you can make a variety of drinks as the entire machine isn't contaminated like with other coffee machines). Sometimes, 1 pod can only make half a mug of whatever. So often, you need 2 pods, depending on how strong you like your drink or what type it is. The pods aren't cheap, so it does become a relatively expensive way of making coffee..

Overall, it's great if you'd like to be able to conveniently/quickly make a wide variety of hot drinks with a machine.

I have one of these myself and totally agree with rofldinho on what he says, very very loud at night and usualy only half a cup of coffee, otherwise great little machine

And lukewarm coffee if its owt like the original?

Have something similar at work- its also slow if you need to produce 4 or more cups as it has a low flow rate from the nozel. Not a problem for most home users though.
How much are the pods?

The drinks produced by the new Bosch Tassimo are definitely not lukewarm. You do however only get half a cup but I add more water to mine when you get the opportunity...I find the coffee too strong otherwise.

The pods are about £3.27 for 16 in ASDA. Starbucks are £1.95 for 8. Watch out for the "fancy" Latte's etc. as you need to pods to make these and they end up quite expensive.

Got one of these a while back - absolutely love it! Coffee hot - tends to make a bigger cup with the Columbian - I'm totally hooked.

Good price, there's also a new one out that uses brita maxtra filters, but just another way of getting more money from the end user.

We had one as a wedding gift when the original first came out. But about a year or so ago the pod prices have gone up and the number of pods inside has gone down, along with the removal of 4 for £10 offers.
Some shops have also stopped selling certain varieties including decaff at my ASDA.

On the whole though my husband loves the coffee so we're a slave to tassimo prices :x

From your comments I can't help thinking you have the older model.

This Tassimo model is much quieter, faster, looks better and has a bigger water tank.

The old model heated the water first and didn't start pouring straight away and could be embarrasingly loud.

got mine a year ago when they were just under £50 at currys. Only Makro seem to do the decaff pods at the moment or you can order them direct from manufacturer. Oddly they were doing an offer in the past 6 months where you saved barcodes from packets and when you had enough you could order tassimo coffee mugs along with a lot of postage charges. Anyhow saved up the codes, ordered 4 mugs and they arrived from Germany around 2 months later. The pods fill the cup right to the top, there is no room for milk or even to move the mug without spilling it. Duh!

I recently bought one of these. I don't think the machine is noisy at all. The only way you get noise is if you use it as soon as you switch it on and then your drinks wont be boiling hot but they are still hot. If you allow your machine to warm up before using it like you are meant to you have no problems. Just press the button to add more water to your drink no need to use 2 pods, also depends on your cup size to how much you get. The pods are expensive when you are only getting 8 drinks in the pack but you can get the drinks with 16 in a pack and to be fair when theres only 8 in a pack the drinks are still only around 50p each so can't complain too much because you would pay more than that in a builders cafe so in a posh cafe you could imagine the prices. It also depends on the drink for the prices. I paid over £100 for my machine and now I keep seeing them in the sale everywhere, but i can't complain because it was the best money i spent I love my tassimo and it was worth every penny, I even got 3 free packs with it and £10 off vouchers. I would definately recommend it to anyone.
