Tassimo Costa Pods - **Price Dropped** by roughly £1.00 - £3.25 @ Tesco

shiningdoveshiningdove

Sorry if this is rubbish.. its my first post:

I know lots of us have been buying tassimo's recently due to good decent sales.... I've been looking out for offers on the discs and i've finally came across some.

Tesco have **price dropped** the costa t-discs by about a pound on each variety. Valid until the 13th November 2012.

Also tesco are now selling the milk discs!

Looks good - discounts seem few and far between on these - though it will take a while to work through the £35 worth bought when using the £20 voucher :)
My Asda didn't move the Coffee aisle so they didn't reduce like lots did so will have to get along Tesco and stock up :)

Do these pods recreate the layer of grease that I've had on my coffee each time I've been to Costa? oO

Not voting on this one, as I'm a coffee lover!

??? Do you mean the crema layer? Are you having a laugh? You know nothing about coffee if you think the crema is a, "layer of grease" and don't like it oO

Are you talking about a very thin slick that you'd only really notice if drinking black with the crema removed?

I believe that was probably something called cafestol. It is usually mostly physically removed by the natural filtering of the coffee either going through a filter or the coffee passing through compacted ground coffee. It should be far more visible on cafetietre coffee or scaninavian boiled coffee. I've never noticed it on Costa coffee. Maybe the coffee wasn't compacted enough before passing the water through.

Some studies link cafestol with high cholesterol.

I buy these for my Senseo HD7007 but am pretty sure they're fine for all senseo machine, i also buy some Lyons pods that are slighty too large so it tends to leak a bit with these but they still make great coffee. :)

I wonder if these are pre-burnt to give the authentic Costa taste...

Stick to your Mellow Birds if you think Costa tastes burnt.

Worst..advice..ever. Tassimo Costa Pods are ONLY for use in Tassimo machines. They won't work in Senseo or any other brand.

I was asking what machines the aldi coffee pods fit as a cheaper option . I read once on HUKD that the Aldi pods were decent and they fitted a 'well known brand machine' - but I couldn't remember which.. hence my question !
Also tesco doing the £5 for £10 voucher deal shortly so may look to purchase a machine (_;)
