If you are a serious coffee drinker, you will be seriously disappointed..

Not everyone wants to spend £200+ on a Gaggia classic..

Ignore the nonsense, if you enjoy the odd cup of coffee without all the beard stroking BS that goes along with it, then the Tassimo is perfectly acceptable.

only diff i could find is that tassimo uses barcodes on the pods to use the right amount of water or pressure?
dolce gusto available in johnlewus and amazon for 29 (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/nescaf-dolce-gusto-mini-automatic-play-select-de-longhi-red-white-back-stock-29-2079646). but this is cheapest price for tassimo.

Larger range of branded drinks with tassimo.. Whereas Dolce Gusto is mainly just Nescafe own coffee
#5
head added, does it come with any credit for coffee?
#6
Great buy. Heat added.

I've been tempted by getting one of these, that this price and at 2.30am, I could resist, I just wish they could deliver for the morning, I think I'll need it!

Tassimo coffee is horrible & super expensive. The Costa one is drinkable but I would look elsewhere as you can only buy the espresso pods in latte or cappuccino packs. If you are a serious coffee drinker, you will be seriously disappointed. I have kept mine because I got it cheap & hubby likes the caramel latte & cappuccinos... else it would have been sold & replaced shortly after it was delivered.

Then what would you recommend?

I think the Tasimo machine is light years ahead of the Nescafé machine. I have used the Costa pods which are surprisingly good. Although the Nespresso makes better coffee you won't find a Nespresso machine around this price and the pods on offer? Never heard of that either.

Yeah I wish I had bought a Nespresso.... have gone back to using a plunger until I can afford a proper machine again. I think the pod thing is an expensive gimmick for those with no time but loads of money!

I agree and disagree here. Tassimo machine is brilliant as I love the coffee it makes but yes the pods are quite expensive but then again it works out a lot cheaper then Costa, Cafe Nero, Starbucks or any other coffee place on the high streets. I think I really comes down to your own taste. Personally I love the coffee Tassimo makes specially Caramel Latte and a big fan of Chai Latte. Anyway good luck hopefully you guys won't be disappointed.

Agree! Though my brain can't cope with the chai latte lol.

Was looking to buy a tassimo. There are loads of different ones to choose from. Can anyone advise me on the best one to pick please. Thanks.
#14
With tassimo they all do the same thing. So any doesn't really matter. I like Chai latte lol.
#15
if you're a Costco member then they had this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HD8323-98-Saeco-Espresso/dp/B00FB2BWH2 for less than £20 last weekend. We know someone with this machine and it makes lovely coffees. We used to have a Tassimo but you get much better coffee at better value, minus the uht milk!

No difference, they both make equally awful coffee

Do you still get the free £20 voucher for registering the machine?
2 Likes #18
Yes you do get the £20 voucher as it is awarded when you register your serial number on the Tassimo website and it's not a voucher in the box. Plus in the voucher section there is a £10 off £25 currently on here HUKD, use this one first then register your machine as the first voucher has to be used within 4 weeks I think! And the second one is for use within first 4 months.

Not bad
#20
Do you still get the vouchers to spend at tassimo with these? Thanks
#21
Now £35 at Amazon too.
#22
The Costa pods are definitely better than the others and often on 3 for £10 at supermarkets. If money were no object I'd buy a bean-to-cup machine that grinds it too but for a quick mess-free real coffee to start the day Tassimo is fine and so much cheaper than grabbing a takeaway coffee on the way in to work. If several of you are having coffee at the same time though it'd work out more cost effective to make a jug of filter or cafetiere.
#23
I love how Amazon actively price matches
#24
Tried three different machines and personal opinion is that Tassimo is by far the better. The reason pods are slightly more expensive for this product is because they taste better and are better quality. There is a reason that the Dolce machines are being sold off at £25 all over the place
#25
Got mine for £28 in Tesco the other day, very good machine it's also on the club card boost as well. Maybe some use if you have loads of club card coupons.

Also an additional fiver off with a code

Save £5 When you spend £40 on Coffee Machines - Use eCoupon code TDX-KGH9
Excludes Tesco Partners. Offer ends 14/12/2014

We've had the Dolce Gusto machine for years and they make decent enough cappuccinos, lattes and hot chocolates.
I don't drink standard coffee from the Gusto as I prefer ground coffee for these as there's more choice out there. So we have a Gusto and a ground coffee machine for the best of both.

Just to let you know op that this is called the "vivy" so just might want to amend the title, just means more people might find it. :-)

Tacoma's are great. Massive selection of drinks - coffee, latte, tea, chocolate. Just check out their web site.

Each pod has a barcode that not only controls the amount of water, but the temperature, the soak time, the 'frothiness', etc. so each drink is as perfect as it can be and you don't need to do any of the work yourself.

You can also get a hot water disc that turns the Tassimo machine into a hot water dispenser. This is so you can make your normal teas, coffee, fill a pan up, etc.

I have both a Tassimo and a Delonghi ground coffee machine. I use the Tassimo every morning before work (as it's quick, easy and quiet) then I'll use my Delonghi when I have more time and don't have to worry about the noise (days, evenings, weekends). However, I think the Tassimo makes really nice coffee. The purists here will probably moan it's 'awful', but it's really not. With the huge range of drinks that Tassimo sell, you're bound to find 3 or 4 (at least) that you like. I personally really like the Oreo Hot Chocolate, as it actually tastes like biscuits!
#36
How much does a cup cost i.e a pod buying them at normal price?

We got the Vivy in the previous sale and yes you do get the £20 off pods voucher BUT its not the same as the last lot. They are two £10 off vouchers which cant be used at the same time so although you are getting money off, it brings teh pods down to the same price as those in the supermarkets that are currently on offer.
#38
I love my machine! I had a dolce and this is so much better! yes pods can be expensive but just stock up when deals come up! Asda do a 3 for £10 and tesco are doing fab prices at the moment! You wont be disappointed!!!
#39
Ive had a Gusto and a Tassimo. Last year I went for a Nespresso.

Never looked back. The coffee is in a different league and great value per cup.
