Probably because you can buy them off eBay or download similar vouchers off the internet for free.
I have a 3 month tastecard and think it's great, I'd definitely pay £5 for a year's membership but it wouldn't be worth £30 for me but I can see how it could be, especially for people who live in big cities and walking distance to town.
Also, tastecard offers 12 months membership for free from time to time and also, as sickly mentioned, it can be purchased for very cheap on ebay as well.
Good effort posting the deal though.

Thank you for the explanation - i dont understand this site sometimes so always nice to hear why something would be hot or cold.

Don't let it put you off posting, it is a good price for buying it direct, it's just eBay sells them so cheaply (but you don't get the free gift though with it being Joseph Joseph it's likely to be a highlighter coloured over priced kitchen utensil lol) and people on here are pretty in the know with prices for things.
Plus, you get some numpties who just post hot deals cold, and don't forget it's a Friday evening so lots of people are out or have been drinking so deals can go hot/cold/crazy!
I hope you have a lovely weekend and please keep the deals coming :)

No they don't. They always offer 1 month free trials, and occasionally 3 months, but I have never seen 12 months.
Not any longer. They could be picked up for a couple of quid from ebay (and I did) when Carphone Warehouse were giving away the cards when you bought a phone, but since Carphone Warehouse stopped that offer the only ones on ebay are people selling the 1 month or three month trial versions (or now the "Birthday" code).
Is the card worth it. It depends.
For the chain restaurants (pizza express, etc), the offer is usually better than the paper coupons, since it is either 50% off the whole food bill (not drink) or buy one get one free on every course, rather than just buy one get one free on the main course. However the offer can be more limited than the paper coupon, usually not valid on Friday or Saturday, and there may be a requirement to book in advance. And when you phone to book, some restaurants also will add conditions, such as that that you buy two or more courses if you want to use the card.
If you live or work in London, there is quite a big choice of other restaurants, but a good chunk of them are expensive hotel restaurants that you would be unlikely to eat in. Most others are 'ethnic' restaurants who quite frequently do offers anyway, which obviously you can't use with the Taste Card.
Quite a few London restaurants also apply the 12.5% 'optional' service charge trick, where the service charge is applied to the un-discounted bill (i.e. two £10 meals on a BOGOF will cost £12.50).
Restaurants also tend to come and go with the scheme, so don't look at the restaurant listing and think "ah great, my favourite restaurant is listed", because it could disappear tomorrow (or it may already have left the scheme, Taste Card are very poor for keeping their site updated).
So is it worth it. Possibly, but only if you eat out a lot, are happy with the restriction of choice, and can't be bothered to clip coupons or sign up on web sites.

Although this is a fairly common price/promotion, well worth knowing about. Thanks.
Worth £25? I don't think so!
