Nightmare to cancel with Tastecard.
Top tip: pay with PayPal then login to your PP account and simply cancel the recurring payment. This triggers an email from Tastecard saying "thanks, sorry to see you go blah blah"

I have a tastecard and use it regularly - saved over £23 in Prezzo just this week - so a heat added!

:)

I'm interested in giving it ago, mainly for the cinema tickets and entertainment discount (upto 50% with tastecard+).

I don't really eat at restaurants due to oil and wheat allergies. Just don't want to forget about cancelling and being stung with a steep charge. ><

even paying £40 for the full membership it's worth it even if u just use it occasionally with 2 for 1s

Has anyone had any problems with restaurants not being keen to accept the tastecard or not giving good service because of it? e.g. with things like Groupon, I've found that some places definitely treat you like a second class customer if they know you're on a deal.

Do you cancel that right away or after the 30 day period?
#11
not worth it IMHO. Joined up ages ago for £1. Used once in promo period. Cancelled. job done. Joined up on next free trial. Never used it. Forgot to cancel. Auto renewed for £40. Their customer service was appalling and wouldn't accommodate. They rely on business from forgotten cancellation dates. Most of the discounts they offer are restrictive (certain nights) and can easily matched by voucher codes given out freely from the restaraunts themselves. Not worth the hassle or cost if you forget to cancel

set a reminder on your calendar on your phone... pay by PayPal as someone else said.. easy. free tickets and cheap food.. sorted
#13
I paid with Paypal. Just did not set a reminder so forgot. Much easier to cancel if ahead of renewal. Once renewed very difficult to get refund. That's the point. Why take any risk just for something that is freely available elsewhere - vouchers.

I've had one with my bank for a few years. Used it once. Most places listed you wouldnt want to eat at. Places you do won't accept it on Fridays or Saturdays only in the week. May be better in bigger cities but where I live it's just all the places environmental health should have closed down available

Did 3/4 weeks ago, got the tickets gave them to me niece and used them, also used the taste card to gain entry to Birmingham airport no 1 lounge last week, can't complain at free booze! Will cancel after I return from me jollies! Well worth the squid it cost!

By joining tastecard Diners' Club, I understand that my membership is an ongoing subscription service and will automatically renew at £39.99 on the expiry date shown on my tastecard. This exclusive membership offer using promo code FBJULEXCLUSIVE can only be cancelled after 30 days from the start of your membership, however no later than 5pm on the working day preceding the expiry date shown on your card. I understand that my membership will continue to renew towards the end of each subsequent term until it is cancelled in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. I agree to inform tastecard if any of my contact details change.

joined it a while ago with same offer but still not received cinema tickets? do i need to email or apply for it?
#22
Just a heads up. Personally I would avoid this scheme if your intention is to cancel. The last time I tried this I had to hold in a que on the phone for over 45 mins before I could speak to someone to cancel. I also tried the day before and was in a que for over 30 mins before giving up.

IMO they operate their cancellation system like this so people are put off cancelling as cancellation can easily be done via an email.

At the time I used them there was no queuing app and no email cancellation.

Still not interested due to my past experiences with them. Thanks for posting tho. :)

I always do it straight away (so I don't forget), however, looks like you need to wait a minimum of 30 days to get your cinema tickets
#29
I want to do this but when do you get the cinema tickets? Lot of complaints about those?
#30
Great offer
#31
Do you get both a physical card and access to the digital card using the app?
#32
I also joined last time but have not received the cinema tickets either.

You don't receive tickets, just a code to print them in your welcome pack

Given that its 90 day I am assuming one can cancel straight away after the 30 day period finishes and the membership would go on till the 90th day and then stop? I have already got my Odeon codes and getting towards the 30 days hence asking.

To be fair - if you go out mid-week etc - it's great. But Tesco vouchers work at weekends and are better. Also they are total legal beagle so and so's if it come to renewing your membership. They bombard you daily from one address - then the "Renewal reminder" comes from a purposely weird address that goes into most folks spam account. Totally legal and above board.... But ethically shabby. Just be aware.

Does anyone know how long the Cinema Tickets are valid for? Do you have to use them by a certain date?

Tastecard round me used to have a really good selection of restaurants 5 years ago, some good local "high class" independents, but nowadays it's either curry houses - useful - or chains - not useful as vouchers are available - with very little variety in cusines available. Slowly on its way out, I feel.

I recieved mine a week or so back and they have to be used by September and end, so I presume 5-6 weeks or so tops from the time you get them.
