This offer was posted over a month ago here at £49.99.

This is the lowest price this offer has ever been.
#3
Battery is tiny, expect to live next to the power socket
#4
Usually the best price for a Tastecard is £29.99, so to have a tablet thrown in (albeit only good for surfing web), this is very hot!

Auto renewal. They get your payment details and just take your money every 12 months. No way.

The auto renewal can be cancelled. Whichever way you look at this it is a great deal. I'd pay 20 quid for a Taste Card, so I've just got a table for £15. Bargain.

You only got a table? Everybody else gets a tablet :p

By the way... I agree this is an amazing deal!

Call me cynical but I'm seeing a little extra word in the offer that I have doubts over it being by 'accident':

"Join tastecard again for only £29.99 annual membership and get a FREE Avoca Tablet (worth £99). This fantastic, exclusive offer SAVES YOU £149!"

That word is "again", implying this is only for people who were once a member previously and not NEW members.

Of course, this may well be a very good deal regardless of the tablet thrown in, but any company willing to ply their trade in such a sly way is already putting me off whether or not the deal is good.
Thanks anyway though, just thought that might be worth pointing out.

(Not to mention the code itself being "MISSU14" - defo looks like a sneaky move)

I just ordered one and my only previous membership was a trial, several years ago. I don't really care if the tablet is **** because the membership price is low enough and selling the tablet for anything is a bonus!

I think your right. In the ad it also says Free tablet when you come back to taste card dining club. Not half sneaky!

I will report back with the results of my purchase but surely if they are making money from it, do they care? It is profit they would not have gained regardless of who the offer is for as I would not be signing up for any more than £29.99.

Very poor tablet, but would it do as a fancy remote for a chromecast?
#16
good point tek monkey: at that price, it's OK as a dedicated remote (sonos I'm thinking)

I have had a taste card for nearly a year and received it free with car breakdown cover with Green Flag that cost me about £50.
Not one in a year have I found any use for this card.
Unless you live in a city and eat on weekdays the chances of getting any discount from meals is slim to nill.

I wouldn't let it use a slot in my wallet again - total waste of time.

Anybody buying it is well advised to check out with PayPal as it's easy to manage direct debits (as opposed to credit/ debit cards)

Taste card is free if you have a natwest account now!

FWIW the tablet is certainly more or less worth £35 incl delivery, so the tastecard is for free. Whether you can get any value out of it remains to be seen. Pizza Express always run promos and I'd never buy except with a voucher, so not sure if there's anything there, maybe if you could stack tastecard + voucher? There are a couple of places I might be inclined to buy food if it were half price which I deem too pricey at full price...so a good possible.

Either way I don't think you stand to lose much except if you fail to cancel your direct debit & membership - which looks easy in any case if you pay by PayPal.

There's nothing in the T&Cs that says using the MISSU code is only for ex-members.

going to see if any friends want to go half's on the card.

went for a mid-week meal with the wife for our anniversary. bill came to £46 and presented the tastecard i borrowed off a mate and got charged £23.

£30 for the tastecard alone is a bargain. i don't live in a big metropolis and plenty of places near me accept the tastecard.

Well if you want it, I'd get in quick. I reckon they've picked up a load of cheapo Avocas because the tablet never did well and is getting withdrawn - saves a bit of embarrassment. Which means there will be limited stocks and they'll pull the offer as soon as it looks like the number's up.

I am a returning customer and live near a lot of restraunts that take the card. I also eat out quite a lot in the day and weekdays.
My grandson has lost his tab!
so this is great for me, thanks OP

Pizza Express - naturally with all their offers there's...6. You cannot use this offer in conjunction with any other promotion or set menu, including Tesco and Nectar vouchers and The Express Lunch menu.

Doesn't mean TaSTECARD IS USELESS, I GUESS - YOU COULD PICK UP DECENT 241 oops stuff that's priced relatively fairly.

I got the Tastecard and tablet in a previous deal a while back, for the Tastecard this is a great offer, the way I looked at it the tablet was free so wasn't too bothered about its quality etc, it's ok as a back up tablet but I find the screen very dark and having had a Cambridge Science tablet which was a great little thing I was disappointed but it's free and as I say as a back up one for holidays etc it's ok.

I would recommend upgrading to Tastecard+ Usually £24.99 but currently £7.99 you get extra benefits such as up to 70% off hotels, up to 50% off fine dining, up to 60% off entertainment, up to 50% off days out and up to 40% off cinema.

So for example you can get 2 for 1 for Drayton Manor tickets, kids go free to Legoland at Manchester, 50% off Gavin & Stacey tour, 2 for 1 Madame Tussaud's London.

Cinemas I bound to miss some but they include Picturehouse, Empire, Showcase and Reel in different places up to 40% off.

Theatre London and some regional, Stomp 61% off, Phanton of the Opera 29% off and the War Horse from just £19!

As I say I upgraded to be honest it was for the cinema tickets but I'm sure we'll use some of the other things :)

Was tempted to get this but after reading reviews of the tablet I'll not bother. Heat added anyway.

V True, if you use the Tastecard twice (pretty much) it pays for itself. As someone who eats at restaurants quite often, I've easily saved hundreds over the years.

P.S. forcephil - love the Metalheadz avatar :D

Does anyone know how the 40% off at cinemas works? Is it at all times? Can you buy your ticket online/at the cinema or do you have to go via a special website?

You order on the Tastecard+ site and they send you a voucher from a site called filmology, it's sent first class, you order tickets in sets of two! and exchange them at your cinema - see my link on previous pose for which cinema you can go to.

Valid basically for any 2D films - I got some vouchers recently and they don't expire until June next year. If I recall I think I read somewhere but I can't remember where that they can be used by you, your partner, and dependents at some address, if I come across link I will post it, my vouchers came in a couple of days - had to sign for them - you don't get charged extra for that incidentally.

The terms are as follows -copied directly from their site:

Purchase your Independent cinema tickets below
The fantastic cinema offer now available to tastecard+ members is only available through our cinema website http://www.tastecardpluscinema.com you cannot use your tastecard or tastecard + memberships to obtain the discount at the cinemas box office, the discounts are only available when purchasing tickets or concessions on the new website.

Enjoy the movie!

Please note admission vouchers are sold in pairs (2), Vouchers do not have to be redeemed at the same time.

Orders placed on a working day are despatched the following working day, usually for delivery within 2/3 working days – however delivery may take several days more than that, particularly if you order over a weekend, please only contact us if your order has not arrived within 10 working days of placement.

*Offer available to tastecard+ members only. Limited to 5 pairs of tickets per person, per month. This Offer is ONLY available online via this website.
