You may be in the 70s, but so were cassettes.
I gave all mine away more than 10 years ago.
And I hadn't used them in nearly 10 years before that !

On the contrary - I half stepped out of the 80s and into the 90s and then ran out of feet. The 90s were the best!

Reminds me of an ’80s slogan I’m reminded of: “Home Taping Is Skill In Music”

You can get 3 Maxell 60 mins tapes in Poundland for you know how much.

AAAAAh

remember the days double tape recorders with speed button where you can reduce the amount of time during copying :)

Made the Rock music sound even better :)

Very sadly I am in the process of transfering my mix tapes (recordings of the top 40) into MP3 format. Even sadder I am leaving in all the bad edits. Priceless Tommy Vance(and his leather pants) sound bites though!

Wasn't it illegal to drive a Cortina without an 8 track fitted...

When i was about 19/20 i had one of those massive ghetto blasters, Hitachi i think. Radio & Twin tape with Dolby. Bass, super bass, and xtra super bass. Graphic equaliser and had led lights that would pulse up a sliding scale with the music.... kicked out around 60 watts. Would take 8 or 10 D Cell batteries that would only last about an hour. The sound quality was awesome on them, but it did cost me about months wages at the time.

30 years next year since the first commercial CD album releases, as it was early 1982 if my memory serves. Which it often doesn't.

The first ever CD manufactured was "The Visitors" by ABBA on 17th August 1982.

Im a producer and editor because i produce and edit my own tapes. When the DJ starts talking when im recording i rewind my tape till they are no longer on the track and just before they come on i press record for a few seconds to the tape player in my car recognises it as a new song.......god im good

lol seeing as recording off the radio is just as illegal as downloading via torrent etc... then why go through the hassle when you can download? It's still free after all!
