Bear in mind these have the usual dark TDK logo and printing on top so you'll barely be able to read what you write on 'em - apart from that they're a fair price

I get lots of coasters on my laptop at 8x, but bring it down to 4x speed and no problems at all

i think a lot of the time people just try to burn too fast

I agree with you there, I always burn my cd's at 24speed although the drive will burn at 48speed , and burn my dvd's at 4speed although the drive will burn at 16speed, I cant remember the last coaster I had no matter what brand, whats the rush? lol

[QUOTE=pet2000;2358432I have no problems with Ricoh and Mawell (also £12.99 for 100 @play.com)
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5319092/Maxell-DVD+R-16x-100-Discs-Carry-Pack/Product.html[/QUOTE]

Those Maxell ones are DVD+R not DVD-R. For most people it doesn't make a lot of difference but my quite old Compaq laptop can only burn DVD+R, so thanks for the link as I was running low.

Verbatim are great, although at work we're finding they're taking 22+ minutes to burn on both the brand new iMacs.

Err... no they're not.

If your burner says it can burn at 16x

And your discs say that they can be burnt on at 16x

Then you shouldn't have to burn at 4x.

If people haven't updated the firmware, then they might not be able to burn at 16x no matter what the discs and burner say!
