"Really top quality stuff at a fantastic price." - I wouldn't go that far, it's TEAC after all. Still pretty good for what you get

The teac 300 is a 3 part system this only has 2 ? so don't know about this model being the same or ever being £575

This is a 2 part system consisting of a receiver (that's an amp with a tuner built in) and a CD player. You can buy the 300 as a 3 part system if you want with a seperate tuner and amp plus the same CD player.

For the price I'm pretty sure that this is as good as it gets. I am aware that there are better quality units are available but just as skodas are great value at their price level they can't be compared to mercedes.

Fair price for a fair system. However the speakers are not that great. IMO you might be better off spending a bit more and buying the Denon DAB DM37 and adding a pair of good quality speakers.

This has never been sold as a 2 part system at the price that they have made up. This looks like a grey import as i have never seen this on sale in the uk its not got dab just fm.

Don't really understand your point, if you buy the Denon at £190.00 you've still to buy speakers, say Tannoy Mercurys at £100.00. Alternatively you could buy the Teac, sell the Teac speakers for £40.00 and buy the Tannoys. You'd still be quids in and have a better system?

No DAB no sale...

DAB isn't as good quality as a good FM radio, down to the compression they use. the only benefit I see is that I could get stations that aren't in my area on FM (e.g. Absolute). Which I can live without.

I've ordered one, will post my thoughts when it arrives.

I have to laugh when I read some of the comments on here!

It was utterly predictable that people would snipe at the quality of this product even though it would doubtless wipe the floor compared to any of the trendy docking stations that cost a small fortune and get rave reviews. Then there's comparisons to a product costing £550. Oh and then there's DAB - a format so poor that it's rightly been shunned by the vast majority of European countries.

It seems the marketing men have won the day but, for those who know better, there are bargains to be had.
