decent. no one buys it for 17 quid though they're just trying to make you think you've saved 7 quid when usually it goes on offer for 11-13 quid

Currently £16.99 in Morrison s but also on offer at Asda and Tesco at £13.

They're essentially giving this stuff away when you think about it.

From that £10, £1.67 goes to the vat man and £7.90 goes to alcohol duty, leaving less than 50p to pay for distillation, packaging, logistics and the whole supermarket supply chain

Don't drink the stuff myself, but I do no someone who does, another Christmas present sorted :)

Especially considering that in the "distillation" stage alone you've got the purchasing of the barrels, any coopering work associated with that, storage for at least 3 years, then blending before moving on to bottling...

Or spend a bit more on proper stuff, and it won't hurt at all. If this is usually around £11, then I can't really vote this hot, as it's only a lickle discount.

good for hot toddies

Horrible tasting Whisky that needs lots of mixer to disguise the taste.

Good price if you like it. They must be selling this as a loss leader to get people in the doors.

I've found It's one of the nicer blends; slightly peaty.
