I've ordered one for store pickup so will report back on PQ etc.

Looking around the web it may have DivX capability as well, would be a nice touch.

Multi-region hack here.

Rep for that, I've been too lazy to find the hack for mine :)

Speaking of which, it's right behind me, and I'm about to play left 4 dead on it - and it looks great and the sound is great. The only trouble I've ever had with it is the viewing angle is a little small, but then, it's an LCD..

edit: after checking, it seems I have the LCD22-208, for which that hack didn't work. However, the following works: Press 'Source', go to DVD. Make sure there's no disk in the drive. Press 9 7 3 5, then select Region 0 from the menu, et voila!

The previous hack should work for this TV, but in case it doesn't try that one.

Is it true that these are made by Philips?

I heard that the DVD player is really really noisy when in use. I'd much prefer to buy a Samsung 22" LCD and get a separate DVD player as these all-in-one combination units always f**k up in next to no time.
#17
Sure they are this price or better instore, but for me i would rather spend a few quid more and as has been said input a seperate dvd/divx player. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and tbh the build quility on these is rather nasty.
#18
Prefer the look of the replacement model and is only £5 more.

I posted this deal the other day, which is slightly better given that it also plays DivX files, has a viewing card slot and is Freepost,.

It's a bit of a love-it-or-loath-it colour though! :-D

150 at Makros. CAme to 172 with VAT.

Not branded as Technica but same TV.
Bought for my wife. Good picture, sound, can play divx also.

tv with built in freeview and DVD = 1 plug = 1 item on standby

tv + seperate freeview box + seperate dvd player = 3 cables,3 sockets needed,3 x items potentially on standby = more wasted power

From an 'environmentally'point of view these 'all in one' units are great

OK if you want a cheap basic TV and are not bothered about picture quality even through HDMI. The 700:1 contrast ratio is the lowest of the low. Pay a few pounds extra for one with much better spec.
I see this TV on at Tesco when going shopping and there are many others a little bit more expensive with a good spec.

Maybe its a blonde moment i am having but what is the difference to the one i have post (Technika 22" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview & DVD player LCD22-108) and the other one on the site Technika 22" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview & DVD player LCD22-208 which is a Fiver more ?

It's worth it for the extra fiver, it's got a better contrast ratio at the very least.

It doesn't. It does have a VESA mounting plate on the back though.

Whoever said about the DVD drive being noisy, it's not that bad at all. It does make a fairly loud noise when it is ejecting or taking in a disk, but that's about it.

Use code XXR968 £ 13 off £90 .£172!

The picture quality is good, and the DVD player isn't noisy at all. As mentioned before, I've got 2. They're brilliant for the price.
