Here is how to make the DVD player Multi Region :)
Press DVD. Make sure there's no disk in the drive. Press 9 7 3 5, then select Region 0 from the menu.

I bought the Bush one last week from Argos. Great little tv and also doubles up as PC monitor :)

Got it plugged in to my laptop and it is very good as an extra large monitor - just going to doa dvd test and will let you know.
Won't be able to test freeview or sky here as I don't have them at work.

no doubt it's a good price, I bought the one w/out ipod dock 10 days ago for £165 when tesco had the special offer on

however I returned it as the picture quality is dark (very narrow vertical viewing angle means unwatchable when lying in bed) and the sound is terrible.

I dusted off my 10 year old goodmans + cheapo freeview tuner and put it back on the drawer in the bedroom - still going strong!

DVD's look pretty good to be honest, nice bright picture and several settings allowing you to change it to your liking - nothing mind blowing but all in all pretty good for the price - very happy with it for the bedroom.

still over £200 in Tesco Milton Keynes (kingston)

I considered this before going for the toshiba from amazon that was posted a few days ago .... my issue with this technika is that the speakers are in the foot next to the ipod bit so if you want to wall mount it as I did this still hangs underneath looking carp!
#15
Hi. Which Tesco did you buy this T.V for at this price?:?

It's only the speakers for the IPOD that are in the base - T.V speakers are below the screen.

Direct link to the Tesco Direct - this model is the 308 but I can't see any difference.

Ballymena...reduced from £229 to....

£209.97.....!!!!! this is the same store that removed from display all the netbooks and laptops that made the headlines in price reductions a fortnight ago....then when all the hoopla died down...re appeared on the shelves.....Tesco every little helps....and if price cuts eat into your store margins and make your figures look bad....what do you do as a store manager....thats right...remove stuff from display ...and when the price cuts are over....put them back and hope they sell at a higher price before tha area manager asks why you still have all this old stock...typical

Yep it does, I've hooked it up to the PS3 and Sky via scart in it is pretty good.
For some reason is says it can display a 1080P signal from the PS3 at 60hz - happy days.

What I meant was that does the ipod dock allow the ipod to play the ipod videos on the TV...not the scart..

whereas that may well be the case it still doesnt come off so is dangling below when wall mounted, though this screen says it isnt wall mountable so its probably not the model I looked at anyway!

Fair point - on closer inspection I may have been wrong - sorry.

just ordered the one without the dvd player online (ah hell another job my bedroom ps3 can handle) . Just one question, what is the sound quality like with this? I know not to expect much from lcd screens but with the speaker in the base of the tv does that make any difference, does the sound have any bass to it?
#31
It doesn't charge the ITouch V2, the IPhone 3G or the Nano V4 - but otherwise a deal
#32
I just came back from Tesco Peterborough having bought the 22" with DVD (no ipod dock) and it was £185 the one with the ipod dock was £209 as it is on the website. The 19" one was £169

Maybe it is just the OP's branch doing it.
#33
Can u use another mp3 player within the dock with a 3.5mm jack? Thanks....
banned#34
nice piece of kit even lets you play videos direct from your ipod
#35
Looks hot from me, make take a trip to Stroud tomorrow. Heat and Rep.
#36
Would be nice if this plays DivX like some other Technika models can.

Couple of things to bear in mind if buying this -

You can fit the latest ipod nano in it (despite what someone a few posts up reckons) but the 'adapters' that come with the TV do not support this latest ipod nano, meaning that it looks a bit ugly when plugged into the TV (can't really explain better than that without making you stand in front of the TV and showing you directly, sorry).

The TV is definately wall mountable.
However, you will probably need an articulated arm rather than a normal bracket becuase the base does not detach, thus the distance to the wall is increased.

It looks crap when wall mounted because of the inability to detach the base.

There is a small pause in the sound when changing channels. The new channel pops up, complete with sound, but about 2 seconds later, the sound drops for a moment. It's not the end of the world, but it is irritating.

Overall though, this TV is highly recommended.
The sound is surprisingly good for a small lcd TV. This is probably because of the speakers in the base. This tv has more bass than any other tv of it's size that I have ever come across.
It plays divx from the dvd player and it's got an hdmi port too.

It's probably better served as a table top TV for your games console, or even your PC, but if you can stand the bizarreness of seeing the silly base hanging on to it, then you can wall mount it - but remember to buy an articulated arm!
Tesco also sell the appropriate arm for this, from the same manufacturer (Technika). It;s actually a pretty good arm, with cable tidies.

I have a Dell laptop with HDMI output so I'm assuming I can use this to connect to the tv and use as a monitor.

Is this correct ?

Cheers for the info on the sound I was hoping there would be better sound given the larger space in which they can fit the speakers and therefore larger cone size. Since this tv is for the bedroom I didn't want to then have to buy a sound system to go with it. +rep for you that's really helped me feel better about buying it and now I know more about it I am even happier with the price.

What's the volume level like on this? I bought a Samsung 24" TV/Monitor and it was pretty pathetic - so I returned it. I've looked around for a replacement and all these small TVs seem the same for poor sound. As a comparison - my 32" Samsung is never on a volume of more than 30% ---- but even at 100% the small TV was more like the 32" on about 15%. I thought it may have been the particular one I purchased, but checking others I found they're pretty much all the same.
