Any idea if this is better than the Acoustic Solution 26" that is/was on sale at Argos for £199?

That's a pretty unhelpful answer. If you are looking for a 26" TV for cheap then they aren't terrible!

There seem to be a few differences between the models, mainly that this one has 2 HDMI sockets, the Tesco website doesn't seem to clear about the component input on this one though. Also it seems the VESA mounts are different. Someone mentioned the Argos one was not great in a certain situation - extending out from a side wall or something similar. This one is 100x100 which is pretty standard I think. I've been looking for a 100x100 for my 24" Dell monitor and there seems to be plenty available.

I bought the AS one from Argos last year for £250 and I think the PQ is rubbish. Have no idea if this one is any better.

Don't forget to go through quidco for an extra 3%

Order through tescos direct store pick up and use the voucher code (found on this site) : XXC4KX £9 OFF FROM 06/04/09 UNTIL 12/04/09 (9918072429005)

Add in your clubcard for an extra £1.50 in vouchers, should bring the price down to around £185

**edit** didn't notice the double clubcard points

Bought the AS 26 inch for my mum and dad last time it was £199 and thought the pq from Virgin via scart was excellent for the money and the finish was nice - like a samsung.

Yeah you could give them a call and ask them to refund the difference or send it back for a refund and buy another one.

wrong wrong wrong. The acoustic solution 26" is a perfect tv for the price. I used mine for gaming and the motion blur was there but no where near as bad as other LCDs £400 + . as for watching DVDs i used a upscaling DVD player and the picture quality was amazing for the price. Come on if you are that **** about quality then why would you be sepending as little as £199 on a LCD. IMOP i think that the acousic solution 26" is well worth a bash for £199 as i would say it gives some leading brands a run for there money ! :-D

Yes you can. tesco give you a 28 day money back guarantee even if the product has been used! before packaging it up just give them a ring at mention to them that you would bring it back if they wouldnt refund the difference.

You've obviously never seen a decent LCD then! Got a cheap one as it was for spare bedroom so its hardly watched.....thank God!!

Don't make my mistake and buy the AS just because it's cheap....save another 100 quid or so for a decent one.

Good news..I had to take TV back for refund under 28 days and got my £239.97p . They wouldn't let me buy it back at £199 so I went to Hove store 3 miles away and bought the "replacement". Now I can say the TV is excellent I use it in the bedroom linked to a DVD Player through HDMI and I can fault it for price and at £199 what a bargain ....Thanks people for advice but Tesco's will not price promise..
