Why don't you just get sky put in all your rooms then if you live in a castle. There is a special offer on HDUK at the moment for Sky+.

Already done

I have 5 SKY receiver outputs available, off 2 dishes, of which I use 3, fed direct and through my own RF distribution system.

5 DVD recorders, I like the portability of DVD's within the Castle.

Why 5? There are days when everything I want to watch / record is on at 9pm !!

My SKY is FREEish, via old card, no card and a £20 card, ( which in theory runs out soon) which has a limited range of Channels, though still too many for me to view all.

My CH5 reception via terrestrial is non-existent, freeview will at least give me even more choice !

And all for £50.

I was interested to note you use a Sky receivers with no card and an old card.
I was under the impression that each receiver had to have a card which was "married" to it .
some time ago when my digibox became defective I ordered an upgrade to Sky+ and the sky operative said I could have Multiroom and that if the old box wasn't serviceable they would send out a free replacement.Engineer duly came and rewired from the LNB (4 terminals) to the 2nd room. But when the box would not work the truth emerged that I would need a new 2nd box @ £70 .I declined. So now I have the cabling in place and have since come to own a Sky+ box which is workable but has no card.Has any body got any suggestions as to what use could be made of this box? I've been keeping it as a spare for when current box ,which is a Sky+160 dies.

The ebay box with no card only receives a limited number of channels, ie no CH5.

But ok with 1-4, SKY News, etc. Reality.

I installed the extra dish & 4 o/p LNB myself £30 ebay.

Box with old card gets 1-5, plus others, virtually same as £20 card box.
