I have these, used on my last holiday. Ok they are never going to set world alight as they are cheap speakers but against similar products of £30 or less the sound quality is really good, not loud but reasonable quality. One set of rechargables lasted us the week away.

At £3 they are an excellent addition to the holiday essentials imo.

I agree, they are excellent speakers for the price. For those of us with a time machine, go back to 2013 and get them for just £1.99! Still a good price at £3.00. Have some heat!

Got these a year or so ago when they were £1.50 - good volume but they eat batteries like nothing else.

bought this item last week - great product for the price

These usually drop to £1.49, so I would wait till the price drops, it usually does every few weeks.

I ended up with several of these a couple of years ago when they were silly cheap. Not the best sound quality but they are fine for in the garden, down the beach or hooked up to a little bluetooth receiver I use them in the bathroom. Also good for using with a netbook what usually has one poor internal or a tablet.

For £3 you really can't go wrong.

do these have a usb cable so that they can be powered by the laptop, if i am planning to use as my permanent speakers for the laptop?

Still interested? The only cable included is a short cable to connect to the audio source with a 3.5mm stereo jack plug. Technically, the user handbook says the unit need 6 volts to operate, but USB 5 volts should be OK. Stated current draw of 400mA is within USB spec. So if you can find a USB cable/converter/adaptor with the correct size power plug on the end of it (and with the inner as +V and outer as 0V) then you should be good to go. Usual safety caveats and disclaimers 8)
