Technika STBHDV2010 Freeview HD Set Top Box £25.00 at Tesco Instore

FTComFTCom

I was in Tesco yesterday, and found this Freeview HD box available for just £25, all the boxes on the shelf are brand new (not refurbs and resealed in the box), and there was plenty available at the Accrington Store. Not sure if this is just a one off deal, or nationwide..

I hope this helps someone.

I bought one of these for my inlaws in Ireland and they can pick up all the Irish channels using it, lovely small little box and works a trea, recommended by me for sure!

I bought one of these a few weeks ago for £30 (which I though was a bargain then). It's worked faultlessly since - can't recommend highly enough!

Not trying to put the mockers on this but read the other posts on these when they were £30 .I took 3 back and gave up

yesterday i actually picked up the HD signal with a box like this, it might be atmospherics, i found the picture good considering i have a loft aerial and cheap cable. For those who don't have an hd box consider this item, as it's worth it for the upscaling. some channel hoppers might object to its speed.

Phooey. I just paid £24.99 for one of these REFURBISHED on the Tesco eBay outlet shop.

Let's hope the refurbished ones have had the problems sorted. I was once told by a Maplins rep that their recon or graded items were more reliable than new because any issues had been found and put right.

Bought one of these a while back when they were £30, seemed ok(ish) for a week or 2, then I had to exchange due to glitchiness (wouldn't switch on, wouldn't switch off, freezing...)

The model I exchanged it for followed the same suit so in the end I got a refund.

Both models were sold to me as new from tesco.

Wouldn't touch one with a bargepole personally....

You need to make sure you have the latest firmware installed once your area goes digital only, otherwise as soon as you go to a channel that's in HD and SD the box goes into a constant reboot routine.
Tescos know of this glitch ;)

    Firmware upgrade is available here:

Follow the instructions carefully - if it doesnt take, the error message flashes up very quickly.

That made me laugh. My god you are a gullible person.

Cheap electronics don't get fixed, they get binned or put back into the box and sold to next customer. Refurb is pretty misleading for this grade of kit

I-Can Easy HD box is a better option at £30 if you can find them. I have owned both and there is no comparison. IMHO

    Which model?

Bloody hell, for once this isn't a vestel clone lol, I'm looking for a Freeview HD box as I've just cancelled my 2nd room V+ HD box, but want one with USB for PVR use, might have a look at this anyway.

    Voted hot.

*Edit* Should have read the model number at the top, the STVHDV2010 is a Vestel Clone, because someone put a link to Channel Zero, I thought it was the STBHDIS2010 which ISNT a Vestel clone, the one the OP put up won't work with the firmware from the Channel Zero website, just thought I'd point that out. If a STBHDIS2010 is £25 I'm getting one!.

I went for the icecrypt in the end, had no problems with it whatsoever.

So is there a difference between this one and the STBHDH2010 here (apart from the price and included HDMI cable)?

And you would rather name-call than get the joke. What an embarrassing revelation.

    Hi
My mother in law has had freesat installed but she has now bought a HD television. Her Freesat is not HD and has no HDMI outlet. Appreciate any suggestions, would this or another HD freeview box have 1, an HDMI outlet and 2, a satalite input? Obviously I'm not up to speed on all of this :-)

This won't have a satellite input as it uses an ariel connection and it must have an HDMI connection as it is an HD box.

Hi - Sorry if this sounds stupid but I have an Foehn & Hirsh HD ready TV so does this mean I would get all the HD programmes thru this box when available in my area?

I saw the HD picture quality at a neighbours on his TV the other day and it was impressive - I always thought there was little difference until then :-)
