Got mine being delivered tonight. I will report back

Not very reassuring when they don't have the specifications on their own website,

http://www.technomate.com/products/TM%252d500-HP.html

I was looking if the Ethernet port is GB or 100Mb.

I've just connected it and works perfectly from my ground floor to the loft. Downloaded Deadpool in HD from Sky ondemand and downloaded quickly. They're very small, much smaller than the 200mb TP Link model I had before.

I've got a similar model from Technomate and they work fine. Technomate is based in Edmonton, North London, I've bought satellite and CCTV equipment from them before directly. It's all rebranded stuff but I guess most stuff is these days

Anyone seen a good deal for a decent powerline adapter with wifi?

I need something to boost the wifi signal to the back of the house... guessing i need to connect this to my router for it to get its signal?

The satellite receivers have their own sw/fw on.

Plug 'n' Play - no configuration necessary
Up to 60% Reduction in energy consumption (standby mode)
128-bit AES Encryption
Built-in QoS
10/100 <------
Includes: 2x 500Mbps HomePlugs, 2x 1.8m Ethernet Cable, CD

What you need is a wifi extender.

Plug it in halfway between the router & the area you want a stronger signal in. It picks up your wifi signal, then broadcasts it to the new area. One thing you need to be aware of beforehand is that some extenders allow you to clone the SSID while others create a new network. Not a big deal but something you may want to check out in advance.

Argos are doing a cheap one for £13.99 that may suit your needs. Product number - 259/8493.

Thanks for the quick review mate. Any idea which exact protocol it uses? I've found cross-compatibility between the various brands of these adaptors a bit of a crapshoot. Some 200Mbps ones I have don't work with another brand's 200Mbps ones, but do work with a 3rd brand's 80Mbps ones.

The above will have a better connection than just a wifi booster, as it carries the connection by powerline.
