Can anyone confirm whether it has Freeview. It does not really mention it apart from in the heading?
#3
Can you not purchase it today then use their price promise to get it at that price?

7-day Price Protection Against Our Own Prices

We offer a 7 day "Price Protection" guarantee on our own prices .
If you buy a product from us and we lower the price of that product on our website within 7 days of you placing your order, then email us to point out the price drop and we will refund you the difference between the two amounts. This offer is almost unique amongst technology retailers because technology products have a reputation for dropping in price very quickly. We offer this service because we know how annoying it is to buy a product and see the price drop days or even hours after you place your order!

are these brand new or graded items, seems almost to cheap to be true
#7
I see this going SKORCHIO!!!!!
#8
Ive never used this company - are they reliable?

can anybody who knows about these things give a review of the TV - been after a LCD tv mainly to use my xbox on but also for the family to watch films etc on
#9
Are these tvs any good ? Seen them previously in Woolies but cant comment on the quality.

At £180 for the 26" it seems a bargain, but i want to balance quality and cheapness so someone please let us know lol !
#10
Having used them for 2 or 3 years, they still do a few excellent deals, but were unfortunately taken over a few months ago,and now seem determined to sell off some of their poorer media before they'll stock the decent stuff again.

If you know what you're looking for in terms of good quality & reliable DVD discs for example, you'll see what I mean.

However, having said that, this telly, which I believe does have a freeview facility (though I can't be 100% on that, but emailing Susie or Nathan should get you a definitive answer) looks ok for the money,so heat etc. added.
#11
Hmmm reading the reviews of the 32" now on avforums. All seem to point that they are going caput soon after warranty runs out - TBH the reviews dont look that hot. Then again for the price what do you expect. Still hot OP... but i would be wary and understand exactly what your buying into.

Just purchase it with your credit card then if the manufacture goes caput and will not honor your warranty then your credit card company will have to

think what the poster meant was the tv itself going caput soon after warranty expires not the company selling it

Is their customer service still as excellent as it was I wonder, now they've been taken over?..

God this TV is hard to track down , can't seem to find any info with regards to this model number, AV Forums discuss different models both good and bad reports. SVP info is very limited it also says, Technosonic LCD3203ID 32" HD Ready LCD TV With Freeview however later on says Twin Scart sockets for connection to DVD player / Freeview receiver :? has anyone taken a punt this evening with a view to claiming the price drop difference tomorrow ?

Were these not recalled by Woolworths because the PSUs were rubbish and prone to catching fire and stuff?

I have a Technosoinc HDTV I got in 2006. Its great and love it I found out its a rebadged Thompson.

"The promotional 'Wipe-Out' discount price starts at 12.00 noon on Wednesday (product may show as 'out of stock' in the run-up) and lasts until either the product sells out or the sale period concludes 24 hours later."

Probably only got 3 in stock!!

It varies between 1 and 4ish % depending on the items, but obviously any saving is better than none :)

It normally get's done quite quickly, but you have to send an email with your HUKD forum information.

Can't fault the company never had a problem in the past with them, and they certainly seem to be diversifying!

I Will not use this lot again,... they were one of the best, but now i have to say they lost my loyalty....i had to get my money back from visa.

Really i never knew, tho i have noticed they have very limited stock these days.I actually received an order from them today and it was poorly packed resulted in smashed jewel cases.Emailed them about it and no reply yet.In the past they would reply very quickly

Do you have a link to the buy out?So Steve for sure has nothing to do with them anymore?

Maybe ukdvdr bought them out like they did with cdr-media? or diskdepot bought them out?
Either way this is very bad news!

Thanks
#27
whats with the referral? "ref=news0209" at the end of the URL? trying to take a cut? ;)
#28
Longtime luker chiming in here.

I bought a cheap telly (from a hotukdeals post of course ;) ) from this lot and of course it broke down within 2 weeks. Their helpdesk takes ages to reply and they seem to have lost my return. Complete ineptitude.

I'll be contacting my credit card company for a chargeback shortly.

Better companies never seem to stay that way long, do they :-(
#30
anyone got one? I'm tempted, never had a problem with SVP

From http://club.cdfreaks.com/f33/true-enet-own-ukdvdr-246763/

I have just had an update on my original question. Yes Enet do own UKDVDR and Big Pockets, SVP and possibly (my source was not sure about this) Big Maggot!! I found this out through someone who worked at Enet and who was my account manager there. They have aquired these approximately 1 month ago, giving them the monopoly over the blank media market.

Probably accounts for why all those companies now seem to be selling the same products at the same prices (and with the same shortages).

What seems to have happened as a result of the takeovers is the parent company have gone to a centralised warehouse system for all the companies and, until that is all up and running correctly, the shell companies are left with whatever discs they had left at the time of the takeover.

Looking at the model code LCD3203ID I'd hazard a guess that the set does have integrated digial tuner - just the description doesn't reflect the product accurately :)

edit: Worth a read about the new owner.

Are you confusing this with the distance selling regulations? As far as I am aware, the credit card company is under no obligation to garantee a warranty (they would be very silly to agree to do this as it would lose them SO much money)
#34
By the looks of things I don't think theres any reviews for the TV and as the company has just been taken over they probably won't have many customers to praise or blast them. On this occasion it may just be a case of suck it and see.

At such a low price its very tempting but in the same respect I've just bought a 42" TV so I don't really need a 32" (but the price looks so good!!!) :P

This is terrible news so one company owns all the above(plus ukdvdr took over cdr-media last year) Price fixing here we come...

SVP have been superb in the past. I bought a DVD recorder from them a couple months ago, didn't work when arrived but they sent out a replacement and picked the old one up within a couple days.
#38
With regards to the actual tv - I have one of these (purchased from Woolies when on sale there). Use it purely as a monitor for Sony XL pc and also for gaming. PIcture quality has been ok - no freeview included in the model I have. Can't check model number as in work currently.

One minor glitch on mine is that it doesn't always show the input when you switch it on - ie if you turn on and the tv is on hdmi input it won't actually show any feed. You then have to flick through all the various inputs again so that it shows the picture. Might just be mine though!

Would recommend as a HD gaming screen but can't comment on for regular viewing etc.

I notice they have now sneekily marked these sets as being refurb's - they weren't before. Clever bit of marketing I think. Will it stop me buying one??
