Not saying this makes it hot or cold but just to say this is a Vestel, same as the Celcus at Sainsburys, the Blaupunkt etc at Tesco, the bottom of the range Panasonic and Toshiba TVs etc...

And they are regularly/frequently available for around the £300 mark.

Literally every other day a Vestel 48-50" UHD TV for about £300 goes hot! This is how much these TV's always are! It's the normal price!

Now £250 at this stage that would be an actual hot deal.

10 bit for preference.

Considered buying this last week but went with the 43" Hisense (£296) instead

Since Hisense make their own panels and they're good quality, also it's HDR and has a 10 bit panel, also has HDMI 2.0, also it has 60hz while this techwood has only 50

I was going to post this techwood deal here but ultimately decided not to because its specs really aren't that great and I thought it would get downvoted to oblivion

Also I've seen this exact model sell for cheaper with a different brand name (think it was digihome or something)

If you really need a 49" then the Hisense model is only £27 more than this and definitely worth it...

The 43" model is in stock but 49" isn't, but I would wait for it as they seem to be restocking them often

Er, I'm not expecting anything - it was just a question.

after looking around I came back and bought it. I will rarely use it so only need a cheap tv.

If your thinking about it worth considering http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hisense-h43m3000-43-296-10-hisense-h49m3000-49-341-10-4k-wifi-hdr-op-fv-hd-free-2510917?p=28799037

As mentioned this is/will be HDR and has a 10-bit panel.

Pretty much same as Finlux models. Very pleased with my Finlux set but mine has a LG panel as it features passive 3D as well. I think Finlux models are Vestel's premium range and these are probably much the same I think. Obviously there are better sets available but at this price range many competitors are simply Chinese panels and PCBs assembled in Europe. I don't know of better sets in the price range. Many brands are Vestel anyway for their low and medium quality range.

No they cannot. Because they lack hdmi 2.0, hevc and 4k screen. 4k can play 1080p and everything you throw at it, not the other way round. You cannot compare the speed of a racing car with a normal car even if from reputed brand because they are in different league . If you are a big brand name licker or sucker then may God help you.

Yes it can play it. But how will it display it? Get yourself to John Lewis and compare the oled full HD and 4k sets side by side with the same feed. Took me and the salesman ages to notice the tiniest difference standing 2 feet away. My phone has a 12 mega pixel camera. Does this mean it takes better pictures than an 10 mega pixel camera?

In big screen TV the pixels are like as dots on 1080p TV. If you sit near, it does not even look nice. If is very stupid to buy big screen 1080p TV. Just go to shop like curry s and compare. You will see the dots/pixels all the time in 1080p which ever brand it is.

proper made me laugh this

Well mine arrived, and im impressed. Took this photo using the youtube app which is a bit choppy at 4k, but for 315 i wasnt expecting the processing power to be up to much, ill be using external devices for that. The actual picture quality is stunning for the price. The bbc iplayer app and playback is smooth in HD mode.

Right click open in new tab for larger size.
Bare in mind the source is youtube, photo taken with a phone cam, and compressed a few times. It looks a lot better in person.

something that I did notice is the built in freeview and the sound are slightly out of sync. but I will be using sky so won't effect me.
